It was excellent! SILVER CITY easily is one of the man's best works, and that's saying a lot. Plus, they gave out these really cool bumper stickers at the theater:

Chris Cooper as gubernatorial candidate Dickie Pilager;

Richard Dreyfuss as his handler, Chuck Raven;

Daryl Hannah as his estranged sister, Madeline Pilager;

Ralph Waite as Casey Lyle, a former mining engineer who the Pilager family had raked across the coals some years back;

Tim Roth as Mitch Payne, the administrator of a left-wing website;

Kris Kristofferson as Wes Benteen, the extreme right-wing CEO of a corporate mega-conglomerate;

Danny Huston as investigator Danny O'Brien, whose latest job leads him to a tangled web of corruption that involves both the Pilagers and the Benteens;

Mary Kay Place as Danny's beleaguered boss, Grace Seymour;

Maria Bello as Danny's ex-girlfriend, investigative journalist Nora Allardyce;

Miguel Ferrer as right-wing radio talk show host Chuck Castleton, who holds with an intense grudge against Chuck Raven (Richard Dreyfuss);

Billy Zane as Chandler Tyson, GOP lobbyist and Nora's fiance.

Just see the damned film, OK?! ;)

4. saw it a couple of weeks ago
great movie.

Must have been difficult for a talented actor like Chris Cooper to have to do Bush-speak ... and he did it so well, too!

5. plus he did a great job looking so awkward on that horse ...
I wouldn't be surprised if Cooper in real life is quite a good rider, but the whole theatre cracked up when they saw Pilager perched nervously in the saddle.
