1. I think we have fine candidates as it is
More, and powerful ones at that, I believe will just increase the confusion and put forth the sense that the other candidates are weak and the party is in trouble.

2. no to both
Gore: too late
Hillary: too polarizing, and would take the focus off Bush's record, which the election needs to be about

4. Hmm...
Good point about Hillary. Bush pretty much spent his entire campaign selling himself as the anti-Clinton. Might not be a good idea to give him that crutch back.

As far as it being too late for Gore... I'm not sure I buy it. I doubt that his late entry and flip-flop would help him at all, but I still think he could pick up the nomination AND beat Bush.

Personally, I'd like to see 'em both endorse Kucinich.

3. Yes to Gore
I also think we have a fine field now. But I would like to see Gore in his rightful place.

Guess I haven't "gotten over it".

5. Lots of us haven't "gotten over it"...
... and we shouldn't. The idea that we should just "get over" a subversion of American democracy (or any democracy, for that matter) is ridiculous.

Of course, the people that expect us to are mostly people who just see it as a contest with a winner and a loser. Too many people have forgotten that an election is all about the people choosing their leaders and representatives. It gets lost in the horse race mentality.

6. I don't want a 'drafted'
presidential candidate.
I would prefer to see this one be
anyone but Lieberman.
I support Dennis, myself.
But if Dean gets the nod, Dean it is.

I do think Dennis has a better plan for America than
any of the others. Most people who hear it seem to like it too.

10. No to both
Gore remembered he needed to criticize Bush only in late 2002, and Hillary Clinton has the spine of a jellyfish.

14. I would vote for Bush before I would vote for Hillary.
It would be interesting to see Al take another crack at it though. Netmania notwithstanding, he would have a better chance then Dean.

17. * BEFORE Hillary? Say what??????????????????????????????
This is *Democratic* Underground, and ABB (Anyone but *) pretty much is a ground rule here.

While there are some here who may not care for Hillary Clinton, I doubt there's another soul here who would vote for * under any circumstances.

18. Well... almost...
... there are a few people I might vote for Bush over, but most of 'em are either in or closely associated with his administration.
