This is what W did before 9-11. He took a month off and when he came back, he went on the road to promote his education plan.

The big difference is that this year, we are at war in Iraq and Afghanistan and neither is going very well at the moment. Just off the top of my head is a short list of events that occurred while W was on his Big Vacation:

1. A car bomb at UN headquarters in Bagdad kills 17 people, including the Secretary-General's Special Representative for Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello.
2. We've had bombings at the Jordanian Embassy killing 10
3. Major military operations have begun again in Afghanistan
4. American troops continue to get killed everyday.
5. At least 82 people were killed in a car bomb outside the main mosque in the Iraqi holy city of Najaf, killing Ayatollah Mohammed Baqir al-Hakim, our very own hand picked cleric.
6. More than 300,000 Muslims are beginning a two-day, 110-mile march to the holy city of Najaf on Sunday to mourn Ayatollah Mohammed Baqir al-Hakim

So what ya gona do if you're W?

Tour the country and focus like a laser on the economy. And wait for the next MIHOP to pull your sorry ass out of the fire.

1. Yet...............
most Americans have decided that Rebublicans are far better leaders when it comes to defense and foreign policy. What is their rationale for this? Is it because they've been told to think that way by the media? I haven't a clue. The Repugs have ravaged and screwed up everything they've touched in the country, yet the average (?) American thinks they're great. I think the average American is very, very ignorant.

I think most Americans are starting to wake up and are seeing that the Emperor really doesn't have any cloths and that the man behind the curtin, really isn't that smart after all.

4. We're trained to believe in stereotypes
As a nation, we've always found it easier to believe the stereotypical representation of groups of people, even if (especially if?) it's not true.

The stereotypical Republican (for whatever reason) has always been "strong on defense and security", and "disciplined in spending". It takes a while for stereotypes to disappear (or change). The new stereotype (at least for us) is, of course, "irresponsible financial managers", and "wreckless with foreign policy". But that stereotype hasn't spread far enough yet.

5. OOOOHHHH! Let's not forget the failed talks with N. Korea!
Junior's not too bright, so most likely he'll keep spewing forth the "We will not back down" and "the people of this great nation" rhetoric! I think he lives in a bubble and believes whatever is told to him by his devious advisors!
