They're saying Kerry isn't "closing the deal"
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 07:25 PM by AngryLizard
Been watching cable news all day, and this seems to be the media message right now, due to most of the polls being statistically tied.

My question? If the polls are tied, isn't it BUSH who's not closing the deal? Isn't it on him to tell us why he deserves a second term? My thinking is, if the challenger is that close to you, something's wrong. If the country's split 50/50, that means you've got the true believers, but you ain't getting anyone else. Iraq isn't helping him, 9/11 isn't helping him, his tax cuts aren't helping him. Bush is in some severe ass trouble, and NO ONE WILL SAY IT.

Unbe-freakin'-lievable.

And also? Mary Matalin was on TV yesterday talking about how people find it easier to vote for someone as opposed to against them, which is why W is going to win in a landslide. Uh, yeah, Mary? There was this election in 1992? You know, when voters were tired of the fuckups yet another republican was making and were sick of looking at him? You like, wrote a book about it?

3. 50/50 means you are getting true believer and half the indy vote
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 07:28 PM by NoMoreMrNiceGuy
Most political experts feel that 40% always vote rep. and 40% vote dem and the other 20% are indy's and 3rd party voters. This is why I am sure the polls are all wrong...ain't no way in hell * is getting half of those 20%er's.

6. No offense intended, but
Kerry is kicking Bush's bitch ass all over the country, and the biggest danger now is overoptimism and complacency.

Kerry will win 52-47 NV and with a substantial electoral majority.

We just VOTE and GOTV!

7. Have you noticed how relaxed the Democrats are though?
Carville on Crossfire: "We're going to win, and it's not going to be that close". And Leon Panetta, debating a sweating Sununu, was smiling to beat the band.

8. No horserace, no ratings
This fifty - fifty shit BENEFITS US. If they said Kerry was going to get 64% of the vote, people just might stay home. The cable networks have to play it like BattleBots, otherwise the advertisers will want a cut in the rates. Plus, they are AFRAID of weecowboy. He is a vindictive fucker, so they are hedging their bets.

The only people who NEED to know the truth about weewee are the voters. They get it, never fear. They see the property taxes going through the roof, state and local taxes increasing, they see the price of everything, from gas to milk, going up, up, up, they see salary cuts, job losses, unaffordable healthcare and they see no hope in sight on the current course of action. They see their kids, and they have a hard time visualizing them in a sandstorm in Iraq.

They see. They get it.

9. Kos or Steve Soto or one of them predicted this would be what they said
last week. Bush has lost, but Kerry hasn't closed the deal. The reason they have to say it like this is, according to whichever brilliant blogger predicted this, because they can't wrap their whorish minds around the truth.

11. Mary Matalin and Karen Hughes are pathetically grasping at any straw
they can twirl to spin a plus for their camp.

The rhetoric has become starkly contrasted with the Dems, who seem to have caught a light breeze, at just the right moment.

adios doldrums.

14. Mary's lack of self-awareness is stunning sometimes
I guess I shouldn't be so surprised, because it shows up in "All's Fair" a lot. I bet you to this day she doesn't get why Poppy lost. It's like, did you READ your own book?

17. I've heard that the polls are slanted somewhat towards
people who are either Republicans or more likely to vote Republican. I guess we cna only hope that this is true. It is good for it to be close, though, because in my experience conservatives are MUCH more fanatical in their participation than the average liberal, so the closer the race the more energized the Kerry supporters will be.

20. They don't know what else to say to boost the chimp
Even my BIG boss, who is a registered Republican, told me yesterday it looks like he is voting straight democrat. I told him that warmed my heart.
Hasn't closed the deal? Ha, it is signed, sealed, and delivered, BABY!
