um..list of white house excuses thus far for missing explosives...
(I posted this once, and it got deleted for some reason, maybe the link to another message board? whatever -- I apologize. Maybe just posting the list would be ok?)

so...thus far we have this list (that I know of) of official white house response:

1. we don't know anything about it, we just heard 10 days ago, and Rice just now heard about it, I don't know if Bush knows about it.
2. We knew about it 18 months ago, its old news
3. Those weapons were definitely gone when we got there, verified by a NBC reporter as reported by Drudge, when our troops searched the bunker.
4. Its a mystery as to how they disappeared or when
5. Our men didn't search the bunker, they had other priorities
6. Well, it COULD have been looted within 6 weeks after the invasion, but we don't think so...it more likely not....more likely because we say so, absent any other evidence.

5. Also, John Kerry is putting our troops at risk by bring this up
and making an issue out of it. After all, any descending opinion is unpatriotic, irresponsible, dangerous, and worst of all girly.

6. You forgot "Senater Kerry will say anything"...
Have you read todays Scott McClellen press gaggle?

Stupid me, I thought the issue was the missing explosives. The issue is actually Kerry saying anything!

10. "Wild charges" -- "without knowing the facts"
The facts are that these weapons are missing and that the U.S. should have been on top of it, either on the ground or by satellite.

8. Henry Kissinger blamed our commanders/troops in the field.
He said that the President doesn't make the decisions about what sites to secure -- the commanders in the field do.

Don't recall what show he was on with Madeline Albright the day this story broke. Anybody else see this?

15. My favorite is the James Bond scenario
According to the Washington Times, Russian special forces infiltrated the bunker immediately before we arrived, stole the hundreds of tons of explosives, and sent them to Syria and Iran.

I admire their effort to bring back a popular old villain.
