and graciously thank his supporters.. He must also IGNORE the buzzzzzz of reporters trying to "trick him into" saying things that leave a shred of doubt.
He should thank everyone for the votes, and announce that he has work to do, since the former occupants have left such a mess..he has his work cut out for him, and has no extra time right now for "analysis"..
He DOES need to remind people of 2000, and state unequivocally that "THEY WILL NOT STEAL ANOTHER ONE"..
He needs to set a pace for the reporters..He cannot be too available, because they have touted this thing as a "horserace" and they do NOT want it to end.. They want divisiveness and conflict so people will stay glued to their TVs..
He needs to remind the press that anything "currently in litigation" should be off limits for casual speculation..and he should remind them of the dog and pony show that Bush created last time with all the "updates" and "reports".. He has "people" on staff to answer EVERY assault by the * folks, but he must not be the one to do it..
He does need to conduct "interviews", so high profile people are seen coming and going.. He must never acknowledge that there is ANY doubt as to who won...
He should also lay down the law about the republicans "encouraging lawlessness" like they did lat time.. If they try it THIS time, there will be riots, and they should be charged with incitement.. As a prosecutor, I am sure he knows the laws to cite..
He must appear to be in charge, and never back down..
If it looks like the SCOTUS will be a final destination, he must STEP IT UP, and remind people that the whole world is watching, and our crtedibility as a democracy is on the line..
The Bushies were bold last time, because they were relatively unchallenged... Not this time...
