September 11th, 2001
that's how i'll remember the second bush president, by that infamous date. and i'll remember all those people that had to die to further enrich the pockets of billionaires and nazis.

all those new yorkers. all those soldiers, dead and crippled. all those innocent people in afghanistan and iraq, and all the innocent people yet to die. murdered by the thousands, by decree from men who emulate hitler and have no souls.

and i'll remember those responsible, including the front man and great shame he's brought upon our nation. the deaths, the piracy, the treason, the loathing we now feel from the world's other nations.

instead of carving his name on some monument to puff up the lies about his misdeeds and crimes, let's just make a small monument upon which will be carved, 'september 11th, 2001' and keep alive the memories of all those people who had to die because he was the president.

2. Well said. After walking out of the voting booth, I feel more than ever
that today's vote is going to be the most important vote cast by our generation. In addition to the innocents killed and maimed by these power mad men, let us also remember the countless men who have been rounded up by Ashcroft's thugs and incarcerated at places like Gitmo,Abu Ghraib and Baghram and tortured in our name. That stain lives to this day.I hope at the end of the day today, we begin the act of cleansing and penance.

3. Hold on a second. 9/11 would have happened with Gore, too.
The terrorists worked on the plan for a long time and would have hit us either way. Maybe it would have happened on 9/10 or 9/12 or some other date, but they still would have struck.

Saying 9/11 happened because Bush was president is similar to saying Pearl Harbor would not have happened if Wendell Willkie was president.

13. I think 9/11 is what people thought of yesterday at the polls
... most Americans saw him as strong and resolute against terrorism. I couldn't convince anyone otherwise :puke:

5. Yes but,
Gore wouldn't have used it to his own advantage to thicken the pockets of all of his billionaire friends. He never would have dishonored our lost families and friends to go after a long time enemy of his family.

7. Perhaps if Gore had been in office
he would not have blown off the PDB that informed him of Osama bin Laden's intentions. The Clinton administration successfully foiled some terrorist plots. Bush's administration dropped the ball at best, deliberately let it happen at worst.

There is no point in claiming it would have happened anyway, as if it was an astonomical event like an eclipse. With different factors in play, who knows?

Either way, I agree with mopaul - it's time to take the country back, and it's time to begin cleaning up the horrific mess this corrupt and evil administration has made.

And I agree that there should be something, somewhere, so we will never forget what happened when we allowed the thugs to bully us into being gentlemanly and backing down.

Oh, I forget - all we have to do is look at the NY skyline.

8. That is not true ....
... It is simply wrong to say that 9-11 could not have been prevented. I am in a minority on DU, because I do not believe in LIHOP/MIHOP. But there was certainly a huge amount of overconfidence and incompetence within the Bush administration. 9-11 would not have happened under any other president but Bush 2.

11. I'm not saying that it could not have been prevented.
I just don't think Gore would have done much different. Consider this. Nearly all the information in the August 2001 PDB had information that was already known to Clinton-Gore. Our enemies are stealthy and they picked an attack method that capitalized on our security weaknesses, just as the Japanese hit us where we were vulnerable in 1941.

6. great words
Bush is the reason 3,000 died on 9/11.

Had he paid attention to that PDB! But wait, that would be counter-productive. Neo-cons want death and destruction to Americans, so they can justify their wars for oil and hegemony elsewhere.

Let's get that crazy fucker out of there!

12. Septemeber 11th
Yeah and notice that the two states most affected by 9-11 went solidly for Kerry. Why is it that New Yorkers and New Jerseyans (?)
are not cowering fear but people in Oklahoma and Alabama are?

What a bunch of despicable vultures the Republicans are...feasting on our misery. It just drives me insane.
