I know what the outcome will be. A very brief, humble note of thanks to some of the key factors in the impending victories we will experience today. So many people came together so strongly for the Kerry/Edwards (and numerous other candidates for change). It would be impossible for me to thank even 10%. So I'll just say thank you to a couple, and hope other DUers chime in.
Thanks, Democratic nominees John Kerry and John Edwards. Thank you for being strong, likeable candidates, who didn't resort to the tactics of the Bush regime. Standing on your own merits, and those of your supporters, your campaign will win the White House.
Thanks, George Soros and the folks at Moveon.org. Wow. I won't even begin to limit your contribution with a short list of things that you did to change the route of this country. My deepest and most sincere gratitude for your contributions.
Thanks, Michael Moore. F9/11 opened a lot of eyes. Sometimes folks need a subtle nudge, and sometimes they need a sledgehammer to the forehead (metaphorically speaking). You provided both. You're one of the most beloved (and one of the most hated) Americans in the spotlight, but you showed so many what they needed to see. You've used your popularity to continue to bring people forward, to end the error.
Thanks, Democratic Underground. I wouldn't be this rabid if not for what I have learned, and will continue to learn, here. I'm not the only one, I'm sure.
Yeah, I took the easiest and most obvious ones. But I'm certainly not the final word for any of these folks.
Though I'm not writing off the possibility that the American public will get screwed again, with Chimpy and his band of miscreants stealing our country for the 2nd time, it doesn't change my thoughts here.
