Just Voted In Northern Virginia after waiting 1 hours
I just voted for John Kerry this morning and it took me over an hour to vote. This is good.

2. Is it normal...
Is it really normal that you have to wait like that? In Sweden I always go straight in and vote, in one of the biggest counties. There has never been any reason to wait. Is the American election completely outsourced or what? Why vote on a Tuesday? Why not Saturday? Do they really want you to vote?

6. Good...
Yes, I know it's important... everyone here in Prague is aware of that too. Tonight I'll join a group of (non-american) expats to a sports bar where they show the election results. Will there be peace on earth?

4. I have yet to SEE another voter at the polls ...
I have been voting in my area for 11 years. I have NEVER seen another voter at my polling place while voting.

Strange. I thought for sure, that because of increased voter rolls, I would at least see someone else. Not so. I was there at 7:30.

Hope IS on the way.

Cheers
Drifter

5. To answer one of your questions:
"Why vote on a Tuesday? Why not Saturday? Do they really want you to vote?"

Simple answer: No. Low turn out is normally a good thing for Republicans, so thus they'd rather us not show up.

7. 1/2 hour in Fairfax City
At 7:30. There was almost no parking available at the school (Daniels Run) that's my polling place -- it was that crowded.

8. 15 minute wait
but this is in Red State Kansas. The polling place people said that the line was unusual and that normally they are "lonely" there (my first tiem voting in this precinct so I have nothing to compare it to)

10. 50 minute wait at 8:30 am in Bailey's Crossroads
Usually, less than 5 minutes. Over 100 in line.
