How bad did I screw up? Provisional ballot issue.

I went to my new precinct voting place. I had my registration that was mailed to me months ago, when I moved.

The place was a mad house. 100 people in line at 6am.

I gave my name, not there. they say go to next table and fill out provisional ballot form. Polling people are looking for pens, forms, confusion reigns. I fill out the form, and then poll worker writes down my name in RED pen, on form/list that says "USE BLACK PEN ONLY". I question that. She answers that it does not matter.

Get ballot, connect arrows. Go over to side, people milling about all over. I just place my ballot in the scanner and gurp...it's sucked in.

Poll worker then comes over and asks where my ballot went. In there, I point. He looks at me and has me sign the provisional ballot form, under where he writes..."in machine".

What do you think? They sent me over to the machine, and nobody was there. So I did what I normally do.

...because they have to be verified before the vote is counted. They are counted by hand. I'm sure they will retreive your ballot after the polls close.
