RW Big Mistake....They PISSED OFF the BLACK FOLK!!!
There I said it. That is who we need to be thanking today.

BLACK FOLK. When they took our right to vote in FL that lit a MATCH that burned till this DAY.

You wanna know who to thank.

THank the African Americans, THE BLACK FOLK. We vote straight tickets. So when Kerry wins, there will be a whole lotta dmocratic winnin.

After the celebration is finished. WE need to make sure we get down to work and hold Kerry and others who benefited from the high turnout in the Democratic community to the promises they made.

SO My hat is off to MY PEOPLE, MY PEEPS in the black community. Thank you for the fight in the 1960s thank you for the fight in 2000 and for the fight today. We won't let your efforts be in vain. We will carry the fight on and instill the fight in our children.

Without African Americans this country would be without hope
and white Dems must never forget the debt we owe black Dems not just for today but every victory at the national level since Truman.

11. when I see the pictures of WATER CANNONS being sprayed on us in
the 1960s I get angry. The anger I feel today is no different than when I see those pictures.

My mother who experienced the WATER CANNONS is just as angry TODAY as she was BACK then.

broadcast, telling the students in Mississippi to stand their ground when they were turned away by repukes who said they were trying to vote in the wrong precinct, he told them to "stand your ground, because people have died for you to have the right to vote."

I love this man.

edit: I was unnerving, absolutely, to see Jim Crow alive and well like this on MTV, especially with the black college students, and the redneck asshole challenger that MTV interviewed. I am so glad MTV was down there to get this on film, because it just documented for young people on THEIR station that Jim Crow is alive and well in this country, and that they are going to have to stand up and fight for their rights, just like the previous generations. I can't say enough, thank God for Sean Combs, for these kids to know that someone like this is in their corner and cheering them on is amazing.

6. I agree
My wife is black, and the other day when she heard some asshole on the news say that 18% of blacks are going for Bush, she freaked.

She assured me that this was total bullshit. At her church, which is all black, she said there are zero Bush supporters. Who knows where they even got that 18% number? Trust me- blacks hate Bush, just like everyone else!

He's a professional politician AND he won't be working for Massachusetts anymore. We need to constantly remind him what this country needs, and oppose him when he strays on the most important issues.

If we can get him to back media reform, and we'll have far less misinformation to cope with in all the other areas.

I thank all "Black folk." Well, except for losers like Armstrong Williams! LOL. The Republicans have seriously underestimated Blacks. They just assume they won't go out and vote. When I read this morning about the long lines of Blacks waiting to vote in Fla. I was just overjoyed!

19. Saw a fantastic piece on ITN
It was at a polling station where the Republican who runs the ballot there only put 3 machine instead of the usual six. The massive queue was mostly black and they said they're going nowhere, THEY WILL VOTE IF IT TAKES ALL NIGHT AND INTO TOMORROW TO GET THEIR VOTE COUNTED.

I always thought Jello Biafra had it right...

"Nothing's going to change in this country until white people figure out they have more in common with black people than with rich people."

Maybe that day is arriving.

32. hear hear!
This white grrl couldn't agree more (but then again, I've always liked Jello's politics).

It's funny how Kerry got nailed to the wall for using that "two Americas" analogy, but this country is DEFINITELY divided by class more than it is by race. I'd even say that ideology divides us more than race these days (and much more bitterly).

27. Working class people united
I have come to realize over time that our economic system is structured so that unemployment is used as a weapon against much of the black working class community as a weapon against the larger white working class community.

Capitalism is the only economic system with constant unemployment - the previous economic system, feudalism, did not have it, and modern alternatives, like the USSR's economy, did not have need for unemployment as well. Feudalism and the USSR's economic system both had other faults, but unemployment is not one of them. Actually, I myself am white and am currently unemployed. As my unemployment ran out, I've given up on getting a job at my old pay level and am now looking for a lower-paying job.

But the bottom line is attacks on the black community's main purpose is to have an effect on the white community. It's to make people happy that they have jobs where profit is expropriated from them, where they are ordered around by a boss instead of self-directed. People just need to become conscious of this, despite massive efforts to erase this consciousness.

29. Has Al Gore ever apologized to the Black Caucus?
The scene in Michael Moore's F911 that made me cry the hardest was when Al Gore kept telling the Black Caucus to "go along to get along".

My wife took our copy of F911 to work for the last two weekends and showed it to her black friends/co-workers, they were outraged. That's 15 pissed off black women out spreading the word to vote for Kerry.
