Something is Very Wrong Out there....NC numbers don't add up...Media
seems to be pushing it for Bush...states that were in question getting called with only 5% of the vote in.

Something is wrong. I don't believe any of it. Things aren't adding up. Anyone else think something's odd? And, it's not just my disappointment...it's numbers and election calls on small amounts of precinct votings without all the absentee's and overseas ballots counted.

It smells like a set up. I saw too many folks voting and talked to too many folks to believe this is an easy Bush win once again...

1. bush people turned out in force
the assholes

I think bush motivated the 20 million religious right who didn't vote last time to turn out..

the fundies had something to prove this year.. I was surrounded by them today in line in a traditionally dem district..

2. Yes, but I saw for myself the "counter-balance" here in NC with Hispanics
African-Americans and just plain Democrats who were furious. And, I live in a Repug area where folks were really upset with the Chimp. I was at our polls for early voting all last week checking the amount of people standing in line for 2-4 hours to vote. And, today the folks asking for Democratic handouts on our judges.

I don't believe the NC numbers calling it for Bush with only 2 percent of precincts counted. I'm in one of the most heavily populated counties and I know the turnout in my area was 72 percent! This wasn't "fundies for Bush."

I think something is very wrong. I have to wait until I hear from our other "on the ground" worker activists to sort it out.

3. I have to concur. Steph and I saw people that we normally never see...
...voting today and over the last two weeks. Lots of young black men for one, they're out in force. Since this is a close state, and I assume they're voting Dem, that alone should make a statistical difference.

5. Really? I thought it was 3 mil. that didn't show up in 2000.
Funny how that turned into 20 mil.

Where did you get that figure?

6. I think something has been wrong for a while
This is the most fradulent election I think we've ever seen, no matter the outcome. I still feel we will win it, but it's at the cost of working twice as hard as the assholes who manipulate numbers and suppress votes.

7. KoKo....I almost called you....is it too late??
It's 11:30, and I'm having a melt-down. Listening to the right wing media spin is about to do me in.

I can't believe the numbers. That's because they can't be true. And in this race, with so many many many people united against bush, the fact that it's looking like we've lost the house and senate again is just too much. It's just not possible! And no damn way the N.C. numbers could be correct.

THOSE PHUCKING BLACK BOXES!!!!! We KNEW it!! 30% of the country is voting on those things, and since the media is in on it, they know the score ahead of time.

I .... well, I just can't stand it. Even if Kerry does win the Oval Office by a thread, he'll still be up against a republican legislature. That's NOT how people went to the polls to vote. There are too many people who wouldn't have split their tickets this time.

8. There is simply no way to predict
or project with such tiny samples. Wait til all precincts are in before jumping to conclusions.

On a more sinister note, it is an egregious violation of journalistic ethics to call results with such a small sample.

The reason they do it? To help Bush, to make those last minute holdouts give up. But it might make them more determined this time.
