Canadians etc. Can you work towards getting political asylum for
US LGBT? We may very likely need a safe refuge soon.

3. Your right. A lot of different groups will be targets.
We are in the first part of the start of the New Republic of Gilead.

2. Curious as to the process?
My gf and I have seriously talked about this, just don't want our daughter growing up in this country and paying for the mistakes Dubyah is making today. Plus I will not have my tax dollars funding the killing of more innocent people.

But yeah wondering if Visa's are needed for Canada?

5. Yes, we are prepared for it
"Canada accepts more legal immigrants relative to its population than any country on Earth.

In the past two years, almost half a million immigrants arrived, a shade less than half of them in one city alone -- Toronto. The largest numbers for the country as a whole, amounting to almost 40 per cent of the total, came from China, India, Pakistan and the Philippines.

The federal government, responsible for immigration targets, heralds these waves on humanitarian and economic grounds, the argument being that immigration shows Canada as a caring country whose new arrivals will fuel future economic growth."

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.html

And as a footnote, yes we do accept LGBT as refugees.

Welcome to Canada eh.... :hi:

8. Thank you. Do you know if Canada has ever accepted any US
citizens as LGBT refugees?

I think I could learn to speak Canadian, eh. :-)

12. We've accepted other LGBT refugees
from various countries...Mexico included.

The only reason why few refugees from the US get accepted is that few have applied...and it's been assumed that no one in the US is in danger of their safety in the US due to orientation.

Obviously that may change.

We also have an underground that brings people through.

We have a couple of US soldiers here now who went awol...and they are trying to establish grounds like there was during VietNam.

They just drove over, and instead of disappearing in the crowd so to speak, announced it.

13. Thank you again. Is there anyone who helps with job location?
I'm really hoping to do this the standard way, applications, selling my house, etc. but I know there is likely to come a day when a quick flight looks like the best idea.

14. This site helps
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.html

and you can also get Canadian job openings on the net...once you get a job your employer will help bring you over.

The Underground is operated by the churches...not fundie ones btw...and they bring people in quietly and protect them.

11. I doubt US citizens qualify for political asylum
PA in Canada is reserved for very few countries e.g Rwanda, Cuba, Haiti, Algeria etc

I believe nearly ALL EU nations will accept those seeking asylum for persecution due to sexuality.
