In all of this, the seed of the new Liberal Movement quietly took root...
...and his name is Barack Obama.

There is hope.

3. I disagree. Barack is a fluke and a legacy.
The new liberal movement will emerge from the anger we feel today, not from the false sense of hope that Barack provides.

6. Also Air America Radio
Also, lots of true Christians became alarmed at how their faith was being perverted. Also, lots of young people got fired up. This could be the beginning of a movement.

7. Wrong, wrong, wrong!
We have to STOP putting all our eggs in the "national", "personality", and "candidate" baskets and get out there and rebuild the infrastructure from the ground up. win local races, build relationships and coalitions LOCALLY. It'll take years but it will eventually pay off and the fruits will bear nationally as a result.

16. We need both angles of approach, and more, to succeed.
Grassroots local action and charismatic national figures like Obama and Dean, around which we can coalesce.

15. A movement is the result of many people... not one person...
We need to become the new Liberal movement instead of waiting for somebody to lead us. It is only through the work of others that leaders emerge. For example, Martin Luther King Jr. became prominent only because of the work and sacrafice of ordinary people who we never heard of.
