The birth of the Blue Horizons Club -- Lefty's social group.
I supported the Dems as much as I could, but I stopped shy of getting involved with the local political arena. This I did because some of the people I met along the way in the past, didn't really measure up and I didn't want to lose my enthusiasm before the election.

But now the election is over, and the reality is that I'm not going to ever socialize with my Republican neighbors in my Republican community because I know far too much about their dirty little secrets to ever trust them. However, I love my house, I love my garden and my children would like to finish school here. So, I propose starting Lefty groups across this nation which meet twice a month. Call them support groups, call them networking for business purposes, but why don't we start fun clubs. Yes, FUN clubs where people of Democratic leanings can meet and enjoy the company of others who share their values.

I'm sure there is going to be some bumps along the road. We are really a diverse group. blacks, hispanics, whites, hetereo's & homosexuals, so it may take a while to find something that works.

This is just a germ of an idea -- but I hope someone else would continue the concept. I have to run because someone needs a ride to the soccer fields.

3. You need a group that can meet with Bush supporters and
find a way to get along.

Read Bowling Alone. Up to the 60s Americans were active in bridge clubs, bowling leagues stuff like that where they met people of different political leanings on a different setting. Politics did not come up.

But when someone like Rush said: "all liberals eat their babies" people who know you from the bridge club can say: "Hey, that's not right, she might not be a republican but she is a decent person."

They did it in Europe. Started Bridge clubs. To bridge the gender gap. They still exist.

If we don't, we will continue to call each other names.

4. That might be okay for people who aren't drowning in Repub
country. I'd just like to meet with people of common interests.
