I Won't Be Able to Talk to People for a Long Time
I'm new to my neighborhood and currently unemployed, but not really looking for a job until after the new year. (Severe burnout from the job where I was told I HAD to put up sites overseas for outsourcing, I just want a few months off.)

Thing is I'm in the red-dish state of North Carolina now. I don't even want to go to any neighborhood meetings or meet any new people because deep down all I can think of is that they probably voted for Bush. And if I found out for certain, I'd want to beat the shit out of them.

I just can't be around people right now. Every person I'm wondering, "Are you one of the sick twisted fucks?"...

1. Don't give up!
Unite - Find fellow democrats and be a part of the team, part of society and a part of your local political and economical force.

Don't loose your voice in society - make it be heard!

2. I sympathize
I don't know how I'm going to be able to talk to my father after this one. He's always been important in my life, but he's a republican. And right now, I F*cking hate him for it.

3. Where are you in North Carolina?
There are a lot of us here in DU. Can I make a suggestion? Post a shout-out on the North Carolina page, and read the threads there to find out who else is in your area.

Maybe you and a fellow DUer can meet for coffee or something. If you're in my area, I'd be glad to meet with you.

Remember, almost half our state voted to throw the pigs out!

8. I'm near Charlotte...
Good suggestion, thanks.

And as a bonus, close enough to the super red, super backwoods areas of South Carolina so I can drive there sometimes and be frustrated by those folks too...

Argh!

I definitely need to find a Dem support group around here.

4. I hear ya
I'm really angry right now and have a hair-trigger temper and I live in freeper-central.

So, if one of my "friends" says ANYTHING about about "losing the game", because that is how they see it, a fucking game, like football or something, just as long as there team wins, I'm gonna have to do a slow burn or I'm gonna have assult charges against me!

I don't want to talk to anyone now either, but don't think for one minute that I'll be quiet! I got a big damn mouth, I'm smart and cute! I'm not gonna be quiet!

Also, I am flying my flag upside down and will tape a small one in my car upside down for 4 years, anyone with me?

5. You've got plenty of friends right here @ the DU Southpaw4kerry
Almost 4 years ago, DU was my lifeboat. Made me realize that I wasn't the only thinking person that cared too much about my country.

6. I totally agree, and I'm through with a veneer of civility
*uck that! I'm going to be bipolar from now on: nice to Dems, hateful to the hateful.

7. You should move to the
Chapel Hill and Durham areas, or even Pittsboro. You'll find alot of freinds there :) . I know what you mean. I thought we had a chance this election, but maybe next time.

9. Same here. I live in fucking Florida
I've been isolating all day. I can't stand the thought of going out to the store with my Kerry sticker still on my car. But I can't bring myself to take it off, neither.

I don't like anyone here right now. Even the dems piss me off.

10. C'mon. Go to your local Democratic club.
1.4 million people in NC voted for Kerry.

They could use your friendship and you could probably use theirs.

We have to pull together.

11. FIND THE DEMOCRATS.
Right now you need each other. And they are there. Start calling, looking on the web, etc.
