America has gone from a Democracy to a Dictatorship. Please prove me wrong

I never thought I would see it in my lifetime. America, the symbol for Democracy has fallen and become a 'Democracy' by appearance alone.

Some people may say, America can't have a dicatorship. Ah, but there is one thing the Constitution never stated. And that is Parties.

We are ruled by a dictatorship.

It isn't Bush, it is the Republican Party.

The Republican Party has had hold on Congress, the Courts, and the Presidency. And now Congress plans to remove the final defense, the Filibuster. So, that would mean Republicans can pass virtually whatever they want.

The Media is Republican.

The Christian Right has a large influence on American politics.

Voting machines are maintained by Republicans.

Tell me I'm wrong. Tell me America is still the home of the Free.

Now that we no longer can trust that the votes are being counted by machines that produce no paper trail and are easily hacked, I would have to agree. We are a dictatorship.

where god, guns and guts are all that matters.

Today I stayed home and watched the speeches. And I cried for the death of my country.

There goes our entire system of checks and balances.

and all DUer's should feel the same way. I don't think the illusion of democracy will last long for anyone else once the filibuster is gone and the GOP steamrolls us us to some Libertarian hell.
