By The Next Election Cycle...

1. By the next election cycle, white Protestants will be at their smallest level in history, and have significantly less influence than they did this year.

2. By the next election cycle we will have been in Iraq for 6 years, about the same amount of time it took the country to become completely fed up with Vietnam.

3. By the next election cycle blacks and Hispanics will not just be subgroups to be pandered to, but full, sizable blocks that will determine the election.

4. By the next election Fidel Castro will be dead. So goes the Cuban vote in Florida.

5. By the next election cycle 8 years of Bush will seem like 80 years of Bush.

6. By the next election cycle we'll be running against either a lifeless cat-killing doctor, a pro-choice, pro-gay rights ex-Mayor of Manhattan, or a pro-choice, pro-gay rights former bodybuilder. Say goodbye to the moral issues debate.

7. By the next election cycle Generation Y will be HUGE and turn out in even larger numbers....for us.

8. By the next election cycle we will most likely have picked up more Senate seats because the GOP has a lot to defend in 2006....plus a lot of Governorships.

9. By the next election cycle the grass-roots machine will be really humming.

10. By the next election cycle Terry McAuliffe will NOT be running the party.

Sure Bush won, there might be a draft, abortion might be outlawed and as a gay american my rights might be completely scrapped but it's not the end of the world. We have to always be ready to bounce back.

What really gets to me is that I really thought that you could feel the change in the air. Like everyone truly was through with bush. Now...I feel like I'm so out of touch with the majority. O well, next time we'll have a really firey candidate who'll fix things.

Right now I'm just avoiding Faux news cause most of the fuckers there have their heads so far up their asses that they're feeling their ovaries on their noses.

I'm not giving Bush the satisfaction of seeing me upset.

I'm optimistic and while I don't wear a smile on my face, I'm damned sure not going to let them see me frown.

Even if Kerry would have won, he would have inherited a weak economy, an immense federal deficit, and a degraded tax base thanks to the tax cuts. (Not to mention all of the things you say above.)

I think Kerry would have turned things around, but I the momentum of everything is such that it would not really show during his term. The only way out of this mess is higher taxes, which appears to be a sure-fire recipe for not being elected...

Under this scenario, a Republican would be well placed to win in 2008 and then benefit from the prosperity generated by Kerry. That would leave Mr. Repug a good shot at two terms and enough time to screw things over again...

The Bush "Economy" will implode in the next term.
Better the implosion on Bush than on Kerry.

This will be the term that destroys the Republican Party. After this even the Evangelicals will stay home for good.
