DUing polls
I hate CNN, MSNBC and FOX because they misbehaved badly in the campaign season. They all helped Bush label Kerry and were unfair to Kerry most of the time.

Now, I feel that we in DU helped them sell advertisements by visiting their site to DU their polls. I regret going to their website and giving them the satisfaction to add my IP to their list of hits per day to sell advertisement.

I personally not going to DU any poll from the 24-hour-news networks and not watch them for anything.

I'm done with them! I refuse to watch any cable news stations since the consession and I don't miss it. So I'm going to do my part and not watch them. I will only watch CBS for now.

1. I suppose there isn't much reason left to bother with...
their polls, and they were getting freeped a lot lately, anyway. I certainly have no interest in helping them attract more advertisers. If I looked at Tweety's face tonight, I'd vomit.

So, yeah, I'm with you.

2. That is our dissent
Participating in those polls shows that the U.S. is not in the GOP's total control. If we stop using the polls, they get to have free reign over spin. The results were posted on websites, and they serve as a somewhat subtle reminder that the powers that be do not own every person in the U.S. or the world. There cannot be any dissent if we do not present it. Dissent without voice is resistance. Dissent without action is consent.

3. "Silence is Consent" has been my motto...
throughout my adult life. However, I question the validity of the MSNBC on-line polls. I don't think their importance to us outweighs their financial benefit to MSNBC.

And, frankly, I'm pretty sick of MSNBC (with the exception of Olberman) at the moment anyway. I need a break from media whores.
