Imagine
This song suddenly came on the radio, and as soon as I heard the first verse, I was in tears again. I still am. I am shaking and so emotional right now. I don't know what to do.

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

1. I can't imagine today
There's just too many haters... there's so many of them.

3. what a beautiful, beautiful song
But "Yesterday" seems more accurately appropriate right now.

4. Yesterday
Yesterday...
All my troubles seemed so far away
Now it seems as though they're here to stay
Oh I believe in yesterday
Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be
There's a shadow hanging over me
Oh yesterday came suddenly
Why she had to go, I don't know
She wouldn't say
I said something wrong now I long for yesterday.
Yesterday...
Love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh I believe in yesterday
I believe in yesterday
Oh I... had to go I don't know
She would not say
I said something wrong
How I long for yesterday
Yesterday...
Love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh I believe in yesterday
I believe in yester...day
Oh yesterday was far away
And I know I can't turn back
'Cause yesterday is gone.

5. Why is it always our side?
Lincoln, JFK, Bobby, Ghandi, MLK, Lennon. I hate this world. These are the heros and they all end up paying for it with their life.

6. Wellstone too.
I don't know why. I have lost faith in everything. Why must they take our heroes. I am a wreck. I can't even leave the apartment.

7. So long for now...
I remember 4 years ago being a sophomore in college, seething from the acrimony and hatred I had for the Republicans for stealing the election. I remember the anger and sadness after 9/11. I remember a year later sharing the universal heartbreak that devasted so many of us when Paul Wellstone (god we need you now more than ever) died, and I remember the disapointment I felt last year when my former California constituents recalled Gray Davis, and voted in, its still hard for me to say it, Governor "Jingle All The Way".

And now, after so much sweat, tears, heartbreak, and tragedy, I'm ready to take a hiatus from politics. I know I'll eventually come back, but its taken such a heavy toll on all of us these last four years I don't know what to think. I'll be a liberal democrat until the day I die, but right now I just need to get away from it all for awhile. THANKS TO EVERYONE AT DU!!! I love you guys, stand up to those freepers, make it a bitter victory for them. Make sure they know from here on, the future of the country is soley on their watch, and if it gets fucked, we'll know where to find them.

And with that, goodluck to those of you staying to rebuild this great wonderful movement we've created these last four years, don't give in to the right of Center, the people who joined us loved us for being the solid liberals we are. I'll be back to pitch in, hopefully not after too long. Take care.
