Before the election, all we heard from the media was that the election was going to be close. Even on election day, the media harped about how close the election was turning out. Now that the election is over, the media is acting as though John Kerry got no votes whatsoever.

1. It won't last
And stop watching the media, at least for a few days. Not worth it.

4. Yeah, I'm a news junkie, but I am DEFINITELY boycotting corporate media
From now on, DU (always!!!), and Democracy Now (and other shows on Free Speech TV). And Bill Moyers, the Daily Show, and Bill Maher. Otherwise, all corporate media is on my "banned" list for awhile. They propped this monkey up, so they deserve to lose those of us that actually care about truth.

9. They rigged the election
Those bastards rigged it-- evoting, turns out, is the easiest way to swing an election. Kerry was clearly ahead according to the exit polls-- then, when the "real" numbers came in, strangely, they trended in a different direction.

They rigged it-- and there's no way to verify how many actual votes there were because, of course, there's no paper trail.

Those machines should have been OUTLAWED-- everywhere. Guess who owns Diebold?? Republicans. They also own the other three evoter companies (SAIC is one and I don't remember the other names). All firmly entrenched in the Bush Crime family. Nice little operation they've got going.

They have succeeded in having one party rule-- be afraid, be very afraid. If we don't beat them down, we're screwed. They want a theocracy -- a fascist theocracy, if that's possible-- and if you think things are bad now-- just wait.

We need to reach across to moderate Republicans-- those who expressed deep concern over the direction this moron is taking us-- and form a coalition to end all coalitions. There are still more of us than them. But if we want to even make a start at getting our country back, we have to begin NOW.

6. Bush did win by a landslide.
He won the Presidency. He won the Senate. He won the House. He won the judiciary. He won the media. He won the ability to rig elections with impunity. He now owns the whole process. What more is there for him to have won?

The Republicans are the new PRI of America. The numbers no longer matter (they're fiction anyway). What matters is power, and they have all of it. Our role now is to point fingers, pick at nits, mock and jeer and take cheap shots. Avoid any pretence that we are part of the government, because the only part they'll give us is the role of fall guy for their failures. And wait the decades it'll take before they ossify or fractionate to the point where they're politically vulnerable again.

11. Bush won big, but he didn't win by a landslide.
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 11:04 AM by The Night Owl
Bush may have won the big prize, but that does not diminish the huge number of votes that John Kerry. Like John Kerry said, we came up short.

All we have left is ourselves now. All 55 million of us. Don't let them take that away from us too.

13. How many Chinese do you think there are who don't like their government?
And how much does it matter?

If you want to go stand in front of a tank on Pennsylvania Avenue, be my guest. I don't see it accomplishing anything.

The point is that I, for one, will not give the media the satisfaction of pretending that George W. Bush got 100% of the vote.

8. SO STOP THE MEDIA
Are we dead? We've done it before

At best this is a tainted election and must be known as such...

The history of democratic voting is a history of ballot recounts and the ability to do same.

The legitimacy of democratic elections is inexorably predicated upon the electorate's ability to verify the results which is only possible with a tangible ballot.

A ballot that cannot be physically verified or interrogated is no different than a vote by someone with no verifiable name or address.

10. boycott the bastards
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 10:47 AM by ABB_04
make them irrelevant by ignoring them...

Let radio stations that have wing-nut talk-show hosts know that you no longer support them becauuse of the diviseness that they spawn...

Boycott Republican-owned businesses in your town - support those owned by Dem's...

Stick together - we need each other's support...
