Members of the U.S. House of Representatives call for investigation
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 08:58 PM by deacon
Wired Magazine is now reporting that three Members of the U.S. House of Representatives are now calling for an investigation of the troubling incidents that we've been reporting concerning irregularities in Tuesday's vote counting!

John Doty, spokesman for Nadler, said the congressmen emphasized that they were not seeking a nationwide recount and were not anticipating that an investigation would change the outcome of the election.

new: AP has now picked up that story, and some of the others I'd been telling you about over the last couple of days. But perhaps even more notably, Drudge(!) is also now pointing to that article!...So I guess it's now officially "news"! :)

2. I understand there is no legal process to overturn an election once the
votes have been certified.

We will have to use the legal system in some other manner to remove bush from office.

There would be the involvement of corruption and fraud charges, etc.

5. This might sound like heresy right about now
(and believe me, I'm hurting) but beyond this election, this is important, very important, for the future of the country.

This is worth doing -- EVEN if it changes nothing about the election's results.

It's a national shame that we have elections that cannot be trusted. Votes that aren't counted, people turned away from the polls.

There shouldn't be one iota of a smidgen of a question about the sanctity of the electoral process. If we can do one thing before the next election, we ought to all be working toward fixing this problem.

12. Very good points
I fully agree with you. We need to get this straight, and the best way to do it is going to be with the least amount of rancor. It's painful, but most definitely necessary.

4. One thing for sure--this BS about winning on gay marriage is just smoke
and mirrors. This he won on 'moral values.'

6. I was listening to Randi Rhodes earlier today........

and she asked her 4 million listeners to go to blackboxvoting.org and donate what we can to help Bev Harris. Bev Harris is working to ban electronic voting systems that don't leave an audit or paper trail.

Anyway, I have been trying to donate at blackboxvoting.org but apparently her site has been hacked, by whom I am not sure.

11. Flood the GAO with postcards
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 09:39 PM by quiet.american
I think the 55 million of us who did not give Shrub a "mandate" should flood the GAO office with real tangible postcards showing our support for this inquiry.
