New Pro-Abortion Senate Judiciary Chair?"

"When you talk about judges who would change the right of a woman to choose, overturn Roe v. Wade, I think that is unlikely... And I would expect the President to be mindful of the considerations which I am mentioning."
-- Sen. Arlen Specter (R, PA); November 3, 2004

This from the man who will be in charge of the nominating process for all federal judges and all new members of the United States Supreme Court!

The Facts:

We've just won an overwhelming Pro-Family, Pro-Christian landslide in the Senate.
Senator Tom Daschle (D, SD), who led the obstruction of highly qualified Pro-Christian judges, was targeted and defeated.
The President has a mandate for his Pro-Family, Pro-Christian agenda based on receiving the largest popular vote in the nation's history.
Thanks to the spotlight being shined on out of control activist judges, some are starting to pause and think before they attempt to legislate from the bench.

So why on earth is Senator Arlen Specter still in line to be
the Chairman of the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee?

This is the same Senator Specter that has been a long time supporter of abortion.
He even supports taxpayer-funded abortions!

Senator Arlen Specter should be ashamed of himself. Without the support of President Bush he would have lost his senate seat in the primary.

Instead of being grateful he rushed right out after the election to slap the President and every member of the Pro-Family movement in the face by suggesting that the President appoint only anti-abortion Supreme Court nominees!

We have worked too long and too hard to advance the Pro-Family agenda to allow this one man who was on the cover of "National Review" magazine last year as the "Worst Republican Senator" to hold the fate of the entire judicial nominee process in his hands.

We need your help to remove Senator Arlen Specter from the Judiciary Committee.

Remove Arlen Specter from the Judiciary Committee

2. It looks as though the Far Right Republicans are going to continue....
to turn on the moderate ones.

Go for it, nutcases. Alienate your own party members.

3. Fight, fight, fight. What a bunch of soreheads
Maybe they can lend some credence to their crusade by not shopping at Wal-Mart, which imports goods from China, a country which has the proportionately highest abortion rate in the world, needless to mention female infanticide.

As the saying goes, if only closed minds came with closed mouths.

4. Wait till they have to live with states who allow abortion
After Roe v Wade is overturned and is sent back to the states. Talk about civil war within states and then living with the ones where it remains legal.

6. Anyone recall Bush spokesperson, Nicolle Devenish, say Bush didn't want to
outlaw abortion? Anyone see a transcript of that from Hardball?

Maybe we can send that transcript to these folks and cause some trouble. I also remember at one of the debates where he wouldn't come out and say abortion should be illegal or that he was even prolife.

7. Isn't that historically how it always goes? Once a revolution occurs, at
some point the revolutionaries turn on themselves over issues of ideological purity, and eventually a counter-revolution ensues.
