but I will try to answer your questions.
What are the laws? Not too different from most States, really. A little less intrusive in some ways, a little more like a nagging parent in other ways. There is no smoking in public places. Unless of course you're smoking marijuana. Then it's OK: if you're holding less than a half ounce, you just have to pay a fine, but no criminal record. That's the new legislation they're about to pass. Otherwise, there are lots of funny little bylaws, which everyone obeys, because we believe in "peace, order and good government." Hey, two out of three ain't bad. :P
What about American life do we not like? Surprisingly, it's not that different in most ways, except it's a bit cleaner here, we don't have ghettos, and not quite as many guns and stupid people. Instead, we have a friendly but convoluted and inefficient federal bureaucracy which tries to look after everyone, but ultimately pleases no one. We all love to complain about it until we look south of our border, then we remind ourselves that actually we have it pretty good.
What do you do that is rude? Well, acting like you run the world, and claiming that the world owes you a debt of gratitude is considered somewhat rude here. Also, you would need to lower your voice a bit here. We have this strange habit of only speaking loud enough that the person across the table from us can hear what we're saying, not the whole bar.
What is considered rude in Canada? As long as it's clever and funny, pretty much anything goes. Making a lame joke is a social faux pas and will immediately peg you as a yank. Otherwise, it's kind of hard to offend Canadians. Remember the South Park movie with its Oscar-winning song, "Blame Canada"? Well, NOBODY here was offended by that; on the contrary, everyone thought it was a hoot. Heck, we're tickled that anyone notices us at all.
like a cartoon i saw,do you have cable TV?HBO,ESPN American TV? Interesting that you get your information on the outside world from cartoons. Don't worry, you can get whatever cable package you want to pay for here, so you can still get all your favourite channels. Except for FOX News, you'll need a satellite for that. Oh, and you also get our beloved CBC for free. No hockey this year, though. :(
How is the job market? It depends on what you can do. If you're a nurse, come on up! Honestly though, I don't know all the details. Technology is a burgeoning sector though, and we wouldn't mind a little "reverse brain drain".
With a population of 30 million, maybe we can migrate North and help make Canada a more powerful soft power and spokesman in the world in the future.(that is if you guys want that kind of thing) I guess. We'd rather you stay in the US and fight to take your country back. But if you truly want to move here, and aren't afraid of a little snow, you'd probably be welcome. And it wouldn't seem all THAT different to you: think of a great big huge Vermont.
PS. you'll need to learn to spell correctly: "colour", "neighbour", "doughnut", etc.
