Norquist asserts that Dems will be content once castrated

He's on Moyers and Moyers quoted Norquist where Norquist said recently that Dems will be content to be around Republicans after a while. That we will be calm like barnyard animals who were nasty but then got castrated and then stopped peeing on the furniture and such.

This only makes me want to work harder and be nastier. I'll never stop peeing on their damned furniture!

Their plan is to be relentless in their attacks and not allow us to come up for air. My belief is we should fight fire with fire and be just as relentless in attacking them and calling them out and exposing their corruption to even their own followers who remain largely in the dark thanks to FOX News and shows like Rush Limbaugh. We also need to keep pressing for enforcement of laws when they break them no matter how high up the ladder it goes. The spokespeople we put on the air shoul always be well prepared, have facts, and shout as loudly as they do. We need to keep shining the light on their hate speech and chide them publicly when they do it. With statements like "What an evil think to say" or "What a heartless (cowardly, nasty--fill in the blanks) thing to say. I am really disappointed in your lack of civility." We need to keep at them and the media. Our problem has been we just lick our wounds and give up. We don't get angry enough and always try to treat the bastards like they deserve some kind of respect. They want us to "fear them." Well, we should not!! We should poounce on them every time we get a chance. We need learn from Jesse Jackson and Al Sharptong how to debate these idiots and make them lool like the fools they are.

Norquist recently told the WWII generation to essentially f' off and die because of their past support for social welfare programs and progressive taxation.

There are many actual cases of castration in the south, some more recent than you might think. It is also a staple of the right and southern culture. I want to say it's steeped in tradition, from way back. It is second only to homosexual references in it's prevelence amongst the rightard. I grew up with southern rightards, I know of what I speak.

Their fear and desire of control of other men leads to this. It is a frequent source of lewd and violent jokes, as well as a frequent source of descriptive terms for problems and frustrations.

From the days of slavery and before, castration and the threat of castration has been used by bullies and hateful men to strike fear into others. Women picked up on the use of the imagery on a large scale in the last century.

The use of castration as metaphor is just another manifestation of the neurosis afflicting the right. They hate, and that is the source of their energy. Hate is an amazingly powerful and sustaining force. But, truth is more powerful, which is why they hate truth so.

When you hear someone using castration metaphors in reference to controlling a person or a group of people, you may feel safe in assuming that the speaker is a true sociopath. It's not just a crude way of speaking, it's part of a specific and calculted way of communicating.

And to watch the usually sedate, contemplative Bill Moyers practically jump out of his chair, asking "you're NOT serious, are you? You can't be serious!" was as big as a shock as anything I've seen lately.

The interview included a film-clip of a single mother in Vegas who was trying to survive with 3 children on $13,000/year. Her oldest daughter, in contemplating her future, said she'd probably end up going into the army, to earn money for college. Asked if she was concerned about Iraq and the probability she would go there if she enlisted, this girl kind of shrugged and said "what else can I do?"

The talk that evening was of the honoree’s tireless efforts to advance his libertarian objective of down-sizing federal, state and local governments by reducing their revenues.  He was toasted for organizing nationwide initiatives to memorialize Ronald Reagan, notably with the renaming of the capital’s National Airport after the former President. 
 
Most in the audience were surely unaware that the effect of their tribute – if not its organizers’ intended purpose – was to provide urgently needed political cover for a man who has been active on another, far less laudable and, in fact, deeply problematic front: Enabling a political influence operation to advance the causes of radical Islamists, and targeted most particularly at the Bush Administration. The growing influence of this operation – and the larger Islamist enterprise principally funded by Saudia Arabia – has created a strategic vulnerability for the nation, and a political liability for its President.

The association between Grover Norquist and Islamists appears to have started about five years ago, in 1998, when he became the founding chairman of an organization called the Islamic Free Market Institute, better known as the Islamic Institute.1  The Institute’s stated purpose was to cultivate Muslim-Americans and Arab-Americans whose attachment to conservative family values and capitalism made them potential allies for the Republican Party in advance of the 2000 presidential election. 
 
If successful, such an outreach effort could theoretically produce a windfall in votes and campaign contributions. Consequently, it enjoyed the early support of Karl Rove, when he was then-Governor Bush’s political advisor, and who knew Norquist from their days in the College Republicans.

I really, really despise Norquist, but I clearly don't get it.

Norquist is a very powerful (and therefore I conclude wealthy) person. Yet his whole reason for life is to harm others less fortunate. He gets up everyday and works really, really hard to see that his fellow citizens go without food, clothing, shelter, education and an old-age pension. His whole life is to spread and grow evil.

I guess 'sociopath' is a good description because what he does and who he is is beyond my comprehension.

Moyers read from this quote where Norquist refers to neutering. I'm going to try and find a better page that may feel more reliable. But if Moyers quoted this to Norquist, I feel comfortable posting this particular url. I had to get away from the tv for a while after seeing that and just got back.

Moyers read it to Norquist and confirmed that Norquist did say it.
