Red State DUers, It's time to move
I'm not saying move because there's anything wrong with the Red States.

I'm saying move to blue states so we can bump up their electoral vote totals.

West Coast living is some of the finest there is. Head for Washington and Oregon. :-)

1. swing states
Although I would be much more comfortable in, say, Vermont or Massachusetts, I say we move to FL, OH, and other states that tend to decide elections.

4. I want to move to Oregon so badly!
I live in the town I grew up in in Indiana but I'm so tired of this conservative state! My vote never counts. Oregon would be a nice change....and beautiful!

5. Utahn here hoping to head for Oregon...
I'm up for a job in a liberal bastion up there. Hopefully I will soon be leaving this wingnut hell hole. Don't get me wrong--Utah is a physically beautiful state, but I'm weary of living amongst Bushbots.

8. Give it a rest.
After all the shit posted the last few days about "Red State Welfare", what makes you think any of us poor crackahs could even afford a moving van to Collie-For-Nya, much less have enough of a grubstake to tide us over in your over-priced housing market until we found a job?

Same thing goes for soggy, foggy Coffee-Land.

$1400 a month for what I pay $425 a month here in Indiana? I don't think so.

Maybe some kind "Blooie" would rent me the trunk of their Volvo for $300 a month...

10. I Live On A Little Blue Island In The Midst Of A Vast Red Sea!!
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 11:55 PM by mermaid
Travis County (Austin) Texas!

Travis County, collectively, voted 70-30 FOR KERRY.

Austin city voted 80-20 FOR KERRY.

We're just surrounded by a vast sea of Red...and redneck nerds who voted for the fuckhead.

Come to Austin...We could turn this state BLUE if enough of you come!!

If not that...then could one of the Blue States kindly adopt us away from this Red State hellhole?!?!

We'd gladly secede from the rest of Texas..which does not share our values, anyway. And they would probably just as soon we weren't part of their state, anyway.

12. I was seriously considering it, but I've decided to hell with that lol!
My family has fought hard in the South for progress and I'm not quitting where my grandfather wouldn't. Several people have spoken to me this week about running in 2006. I'm thinking about that. But I'm not giving up.

I've lived outside of the South, and no offense, but I was miserable. Like or not, this is home.

15. We'll split it 3 ways
1.5 million to Washington

1.5 million to Oregon

1.2 million to Nevada (not a blue state, but that would be more than enought to make it one permanently).

23. There's a bunch
Northampton is great, here's their website:

http://www.noho.com/

and Amherst:

http://www.town.amherst.ma.us/

Other than that, there's a bunch of smaller towns, like Shelburne Falls, Leverett, Wendell. The whole area's pretty nice, but these are my favorite localities.

25. I love where I am
More eastern MA, so if you want to buy my house, let me know. Unfortunately, my husband was one of many many people here who lost his job, and we're seriously considering relocation to the Carolina's, where real estate is affordable. Plus, even though I love the snow, I hate the cold!

20. I'd love to. Do you have a job waiting for me? A good job? One that ..
..would help me pay off all the debt I've accumulated under Bushonomics? If you do, I'm there.

22. Depends
I'm in a red state right now. I've lived in red states for years now.

I see it as being in enemy occupied territory.

I've considered moving to California, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Oregon, Washington, Vermont, New York, Illinois or someplace else sensible.

And for some of us, that's the best thing right now. A few are even talking about Canada or New Zealand. But I'm not content to leave the enemy with *any* territory. Some of us are going to have to stay here behind enemy lines, and change things.

I do have to say that I love the Northwest, I love Minnesota, and I love New England. Would move to any of those places in a second if there was a job waiting for me. But do we abandon half of the country to the 'pukes, or do we do whatever it takes to rid the world of that menace? I'm not ready to let them have any territory at all, any less than the underground resistance during WWII was not content to "co-exist" with the Nazis and Fascists. They must be defeated. Completely.
