moral values. . .? 'scuse me
Edited on Sat Nov-06-04 06:55 AM by stellanoir
I know this is blatantly obvious to everyone here but I am just deeply compelled to share so please excuse.

The media keeps going on and on about how * won because of his moral values.

WTF- Where the hell is the morality in stealing votes and killing over 100,000 innocent Iraqis in a preemptive war based on bogus intelligence (aka sheer stupidity) ?

What is so impossibly hard to comprehend about

"Thou shalt not steal.
Thou shalt not kill.". . .?

This ruse is driving me to edge of shutting off the news for a while or I may just suffer from spontaneous human combustion.

When he ran on the slogan of compassionate conservatism four years ago, it bothered me greatly as I never thought that compassion could ever be something to which frugality could possibly apply. The man has all the compassion of a slug. "Poor people are just lazy."

But this feigned moral superiority is far more insidious.

All * cares about in all his overt mean spiritedness is self aggrandizement and enriching his cronies through a governance of fear and intimidation.

Of the seven deadly sins, he blatantly parades around overtly embodying at least four of them (pride, anger, greed, & sloth).

I do firmly believe that his hypocritical theocratic ideology is a complete and total misnomer.

We American's who are inherantly spiritual of all faiths (revering all life and helping those less fortunate than ourselves) must certainly outnumber the fundies by far. This myth of his "high moral values" must be dispelled somehow.

I sometimes wonder if this may truly be traditional Christianity's last stand of sorts, given the popularity of the Da Vinci Code and the exposure of all the pediphilia scandals in the Catholic church. I can't believe that those of blind faith aren't on the decline at least to a certain extent.

Perhaps the only way to resolve the idiotic argument of who's God is better (the cornerstone of terrorism) is through a none dogmatic all inclusive spirituality that rallies itself around the simple premise of "don't kill." Yes I am at times a deluded optimist.

I do love the image circulating of a "purple nation" and I've visualized it ever since I heard Obama's inspiring speech at the convention last summer. Yet I do wonder if it shouldn't be lavender. . .because isn't that what you get when you combine red, white, and blue?

May peace be within us all and the truth be our primary motivating force in redeeming the innumerable foibles of this once great nation.

3. this is just Part 2 of the conspiracy . . .
Part 1 was stealing the election, which they did very effectively and efficiently . . . Part 2 is the coverup, which is much, much harder to get away with . . . and the coverup includes all the talk in the media about mandates and moral values . . . just a new set of Rovian talking points . . .

I just wish there was some way to blow a bazooka sized whole in the propaganda.

Perhaps the UN & the International Criminal court will ultimately take * down. The regard of ultimate culpability is the only good aspect of Kerry losing. I would have hated to see him roasted for *'s crimes against humanity.

Bush Co should take the rap for these atrocities. I've faith that over time they will but at what grevious expense to the rest of us. . .?

6. the creepiest part of the beliefs of fundamentalist
Christians is one of the basics. . .that Christ died for their sins so all they need do is accept him as their personal saviour and they'll unquestionably go to heaven with complete impunity for whatever other transgressions they may or may not have committed. . .talk about a carte blanche for enabling totally despicable behaviors. . .

sheesh

it's mind boggling to me.

aren't they all going to be surprised...

Our first goal after veryifing the election results should be to disproving the so-called fundie talking points. That is the area I'm going to concentrate on..organized religion is destroying the world.

8. I agree with everyone one on the thread here
In class yesterday tried to bring up that whole entire "morals" thing I shot back it's not morals just plain bigotry. I don't see why do we have to try to make nice with so called "moral" voters because, first they try to claim is that have no morals, pretty much condemning us to Hell, if that is not hateful I don't know what is. We have to stop playing nice with people who think nothing of condemning 49% of the population to hell just because we can see through that fake "moral" crap they spew. Remember people we are the ones with real morals not them. For example, if someone tries to bring up Sodom and Gomorrah as an excuse for their anti-gay bigatory, say that the real reason God destroyed those cities was because of "hardness of heart", they ignore widows and orphans and were hostile to their neighbors.

11. yeah-
I posted a thread on election day but I'm lousy at cross referencing threads and I know the archives were down that day due to excessive traffic. . .anyway. . .

Just before going out to vote in the mid-afternoon I got slammed on the phone by a * operative. In a phoney saccharin voice she said, "I'd like to encourage you to go vote for George W. Bush for President today." I paused, took a deep breath and said,". . .you're kidding right. . .?" She said, "no I'm not." I said, "let's see. . .he's trashed our economy, our reputation in the world, ignored the Geneva Conventions, habeus corpus, and the rule of law. . ."

Then this darling woman slammed we with a prerecorded message with this cartoony nasal message that said, "you are filled with hate. That's why you're voting for John Kerry."

It was unbelievable. Bad grammar too. Hate is a verb. Hatred is a noun.

after watching the morning snooz shows, their perpetration of this ruse annoys me even more.
