Are the Anarchists planning to fight, then?
This Raleigh, NC GOP Party HQ vandalism has their "signature".

They could really mess shit up for us if so.

1. I'm of two minds still about this...
...I keep remembering the anarchists at the Boston Tea Party.

4. But King George didn't control the press then.
Such a thing would be spun terribly and paint us ALL guilty by association.

But since the anarchists hate us Dems as much or more as they hate the repugs, I doubt they'd really care.

2. I don't know. I'll check my decoder ring after lunch.
On a more serious note: How could that mess shit up for Dems? One would think that illegal wars of aggression would trump some vandalism?

7. Mind you...
I think perhaps we ought to be at civil war now, but until we are ready to do a proper job of it, this sort of premature action will cause a crackdown.

5. That sort of thing is tremendously unpopular

Even after Kent State, most people in a Gallup poll sympathized with the guardsmen over the protestors, for example, by about 60% to 20%. Protesting is important work and it should be done, but vandalism doesn't really interest me--kids drawing on the wall with crayons before mom gets home. Civil disobedience is something I'd rather see the anarchists do.

11. You sure on those numbers jp?
I remember Kent State and it was a tragedy from day one. I don't buy that the public accepts killing students for protesting.

13. Unfortunately, yes.
Sorry I can't find the primary source--my remembrance was just slightly off.

http://www.csmonitor.com/2003/0429/p09s02-coop.html

"A nationwide Gallup telephone poll taken on May 13 and 14 found that 58 percent of the respondents thought the students responsible for the deaths while only 11 percent blamed the National Guard (31 percent had no opinion)."

14. I find that strangely reassuring
if we made it back from that mentality we can make it back from this one.

NC is the last place I'd expect this.

12. There are
Edited on Sat Nov-06-04 11:49 AM by Sin
Many divisions on the way the different factions think in the S of A today in some cases Dem's will get the blame but in others The groups that commit them are going to want to take credit to further there cause Sort of a look like we did come join us type thing.
Now if the other side clamps down on the wrong group thats going to make that group angry make them do more things or start to do stuff because they were wrongly targeted and other groups will use the clamp down as a reason to do more things.
and this snow ball could start a rolling.
