RESIST!!! DU-ERS: The "Activist" Thread
DUers we have no political power in Uh-Murka; but we have NUMBERS. THERE IS POWER THERE IF WE USE IT.

If only all the people who voted for Kerry could organize, we DO have the power to cower BushCo: it's spending power, the almighty dollar, their true God.

Support Blue companies, like mined independents, local activism, share your action ideas with all of us. I'm determined to do everything I can -- it's up to us!

1. How do I learn which companies are "blue" companies.
Yesterday I asked if there was a website that listed Republican supporting companies to boycott, but the post got buried before I received any replies.

2. What is amazing is that your idea extends beyond DU.
My family members and my neighbors (none of whom post here) had decided on Nov.3 to support only blue companies. They decided to turn off the news and in my town that includes Sinclair for local news and CNN for national news. They had decided that being opinionated was no longer enough but they had to become activists. I think Kerry supporters all over the country who weren't activists in the democratic party are activists now.

Something wonderful is happening. I can feel it.

5. There was a LTTE in our alternative weekly newspaper
that was very interesting. As I stated our local news is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group (yes we have to suffer through Mark Hymans disgraceful commentaries :puke: ) and channel 20 sends out a weekly flyer that is full of coupons. What the local residents in my town have decided to do is boycott those companies who offer coupons through channel 20 news (aka sinclair) and who advertise locally on channel 20 news. People have been writing LTTE to point out those companies and encouraging activism in boycotting them. Personally we haven't watched channel 20 in at least 3 years but it sure is nice to see what appears to be huge numbers of people finally responding.

I have really been uplifted by the response in my own moderately sized town to the election as well as SBG. People are pissed.

6. Help! Where do I find it?
I'm usually a crack googler, but I'm having trouble finding a list of blue companies to patronize and red companies to boycott.

7. switch banks and investment accounts--call to action
One of the easiest ways to act is to "vote" with your money (since they wouldn't let the real voting happen without fraud). If you have funds in any of the institutions below, switch accounts immediately to an institution not listed, preferably to a local bank or credit union. Justification for the following blacklist can be found at www.solari.com and there's a link below the list that will also explain what has been proposed.

- American Insurance Group
- Bank of America
- Bank of New York
- BBT
- Citibank/Citigroup
- Credit Suisse First Boston
- Deutsche Bank
- FleetBoston
- General Electric
- Goldman Sachs
- HSBC Bank
- JP Morgan Chase
- Mellon Financial Corporation
- Merrill Lynch
- PNC
- SunTrust Banks
- Wachovia Bank
