the republicans are angry at dems because we think we are
smarter. better informed?

bush takes pride in not reading not being informed

every republican in my life has shut me up and refuse to listen to me

they are afraid, unwilling to hear factual events that are happening

they deny

look at rural red vote, undereducated

continuosly telling us to accept non truths as reality, creationism

is us being smarter, really our fault. dont the repugs have some responsibility in their stupid and uninformed. people keep saying, quit calling them stupid, it pisses them off. then, read be informed and i will quit calling you stupid

why do they say out loud they voted bush. not policy, not accomplishment or failure, not factual info of the last 4 years,....but a mystical belief system in illusion,.....their precervied what value is

1. No, but us acting smarter and superiour is our fault.
Don't play into the Radical RW script that we're elitist intellectual snobs.

Read George Lakoff's "Don't Think of an Elephant." It short and cheap ($10), and explains why the other side seems so damn - what, insane, stupid, delusional? It's because they have a different worldview. Read it and become psychologically armed for the the battle.

NGU.

they chose, doesnt have to be. but is

start putting the pressure on them to be informed. i am with my people.

18. Smarter vs. better informed.
We may be better informed. We'll agree on that point.

16. I totally agree
We're not going to get people on our side by insulting them. I am definitely ordering that book. One of the people I talked to during my "Phone Corp" calls was raving about it!

17. this is theirs i am saying. we dont have to be calling anyone
stupid. and they are going to still feel this

this one is not ours to own it is theirs. when a repug says, do you think i am stupid, what he is really saying is i think i am stupid. this is what i am trying to get across. we can go around for a hundred years being compassionate and understanding to their sensitivity to us saying they are stupid. and not going to do a damn thing until they they they quit being stupid.

they have to get informed. for me to read the book and get informed is gonna just make them feel even more stupid

2. Pretty pissed off bunch, aren't they?
You'd almost think they lost on November 2.

Just keep asking them questions. E.g., Why would a Christian man kill so many tens of thousands of Iraqis who never meant us any harm, and didn't have anything against us?

3. Well, I am not going to dumb down so these morons accept me
I am proud to be well-informed and educated. If that makes me an "elitist liberal", so be it.

They had all the facts about Bush's presidency and they knew all the lies he has told in the past. It was obvious that his "I am a man of God" and the "moral values" bullshit was just a ploy to get them voting for him. If you are too stupid to weigh simple facts and are this easily manipulated, than you are ignorant. Sorry.

6. i assure you the brightest, did not have the facts
the men in my life adn all around me are very clever and smart people adn they did not hae the facts. and whenever i would open my mouth they would shout me down, go to ridicule, go to you think you are so smart, to shut me up. in the most contorted of ways. they watch fox. that is it. they chose to stay ignorant. they take pride it it. literally had the repug women say to me, i am not political, dont watch dont know i should i know, but i dont like it and am not going to do it. so i would tell them shit and they say, why should i believe you adn i refuse to research,. i refuse to listen

they dont know, and they dont want to

in my house that definition is stupid. i use and have taught this word to my boys this summer. use to be we arent allowed to say. now i say, it is iwhen a person wit a brain doesnt use it. i have shown them examples in things i have done and they do, that are stupid. we now clearly have a definition for it. you have a brain, you dont use it

9. "they dont know, and they dont want to"
They didn't want to know. That is exactly it. All the facts were out there. Voting for a President is a serious responsibility. It shapes the future not only for the next 4 years, but for decades to come. It impacts our children and grand-children.

They destroy our children's future because they oppose two guys kissing and call that "moral values" ???

Giving our hard earned money to the rich, pushing more people into poverty, leaving children and seniors without health insurance, underfunding education, starting wars for no reason and killing thousands of Iraqi babies, mothers, and fathers, destroying the environment ... what "moral values" are that???

Edited on Sat Nov-06-04 01:25 PM by seabeyond
with me. both i have yelled at, laid into, on their responsibily in this life. one a rapture gal, one stepping out of the cult of fundie.

the one stepping out, immediately cornered and isolate me, forcefully, i saved her, thanking profusely for convincing her to vote kerry. she is so thrilled she put an x by his name and said it exactly

i would forever feel the guilt and shame if i had re elected bush, i know i would. i have a weight lifted off me. she told me. i mean like a friggin spiritual experience, awakening.

my rapture gal.........gosh a whole different feel. at end i went to hug with other friend, as if wiped out, ........i am not hugger, yuk. and this second friend wanted a hug, and i couldnt do it. very awkward

Why do they berate us for a label they have placed on us? I don't run around claiming to be intellectually superior to them? No one I know does that.

8. we are more informed
that is factual. we see it here. we see it in our personal life. we are more informed

that is a reality. it isnt a matter of anyone going around saying, our story is more buyable. we have facts. they cannot argue. they recognize this. this is their resentment. they know we are and pisses them off. ego kicks in and they have to protect thaty little self of them. and like a child you think i am stupid. as a mom i say, then quit being stupid. i mean dont blame me, tis yours

4. my lifetime texas republican husband
is so disgusted with his fellow republicans. i didnt realize how hard this has been for him, in his quiet. his parents, lol two gay brothers i tell him the other nite, i am standing and fighting for your brothers way harder than your parents. what is up wit that. i am the ones beside them, shouldnt your parents be here too.

he is so disgusted, he cannot listen to them. he cannot turn on news. i didnt realize. he voted bush in 2000.

he is one of those oh such a man. and he felt, recognize error and correct. that is a man, and responsibility, dont hold on to error because of ego. that makes you less a man.

the last 6 months he is honing skills, while i was emersed in this political. we both left each other alone allowed us to do what we needed. he is gentle and non confrontational, so he couldnt sit in my fuck you all much

the hunter male has really come out in husband and oldest son. son is working on 10. and both are such gentle spirits. but they are toning their survival skills. for real. the learning gun, target practice, ......... living off earth, metal detector skill. panning for gold.

makes me wonder what is up. bah hahaha

20. Tuesday Nov 2 proved the Democrats are smarter
ANy one who watched the debates or listened to anything that chimpy had to say could not have voted for them if they had brain 1 in their head.
They are the dumbest creatures on the face of this earth and it pains me that the rest of the world will throw us in with these morons.
We are smarter because we stop and analyze our thoughts and opinions and weigh the consequences for all before making a decision.
We don't vote on one issue where as the repubes do, be it abortion or gun control or their coveted $300 tax cut.

21. They are being led by seemingly harmless email chains.
They slowly become part of "the chain" - they thrive on misinformation and idealizing GWB. They began with 'God's love' and "I love you" - all warm & fuzzy, seemingly innocent. Gradually the emails progressed into idealizing Bush and demonizing Democrats. You wouldn't believe the lies I read about Kerry through these chains.

The same chains circulate around my office. At first I laughed over them & I asked to be dropped from the chains. Now I see that they slowly and surely poisoned the minds of some good people. THEY ARE NOW BRAINWASHED BLIND SHEEP. In a matter of months 2 of my sisters have become completely warped. How do we break this cycle??????

22. the day my 7 year old told me during 1 hour chapel
the minister said kerry was a murder and showed pictures. that was a week ago on a thursday. today i am thinking what pictures. my boys are in a chrisitian school. last week i spent taking care of them and the loss of kerry, this week i need to sit with superintendent and ask, what were those pictures. surely not dead fetus's. for whatever reason that hit me this morning. surely they didnt show children dead fetus. btu then as hard as it is for me to think it a possibility, my brain says, they do that

23. Sounds like your children's school is showing abortion pictures.
I wouldn't put anything past the scumbags I've seen demonstrating against abortion. I mean, really, if you're against taking a life through abortion, how can they justify killing doctors at abortion clinics? It's really crazy stuff - and that's what we have in the Whitehouse now. Now they justify the lives lost in war by saying its nothing compared to the lives lost to abortion. Sick, sick puppies. I'd be interested to hear how your conversation with the minister goes. Bet it's deny, deny, deny. Make them show you the pictures.
