We need to start with Defense-contractor owned NBC
and take over Today Plaza until they give a full accounting of the election.

1. The good logic about your suggestion is that while we couldn't
boycott or pressure all Republican backing corps, we could select one at a time and stay after them until they are hurt financially. Then move to the next. In other words a sequential, but relentless series of attacks. It might work.

2. Prioritization?
What are the criteria for prioritization?

And which one would be first under those criteria?

4. I'd say the first priority would be to evaluate a candidate that
we could successfully damage. We did pretty well with the Sinclair.
We'd need to consider their profit situation and the nature of their business, i.e. be able to clearly show that they are promoting the Bush admin so as to be able to make money on war materials with disregard for the safety of the troops.

6. How does one find that kind of information?
Annual reports?

Prospectuses?

7. We'd have to get some experts to help us find vulnerable targets
We're just in the brain storming period here on the DU. If targeting one company and staying after it until it's wounded
seems like a good idea to many DU'ers , they let us know. It will either have legs or not. Right now, it's just a few of us on this thread.

10. Patrice, I think you are asking me to put up or shut up. I'm working
on it.

11. Oh no, please, I don't think you should "put up or shut up"

Sorry, I'm just impatient, that is probably affecting my tone.

I really have been working for the last year on connections to several grassroots "activist" groups. I WANT to help them/us to get it right.

On edit :

And, I really believe in the usefulness of boycott.

12. I didn't mean that you were being offensive or anything like that.
Perhaps I was projecting my own thoughts on the subject. Too many of use, myself included, are doing lots of brave and smart talking, but, most of us stop at that point. It's about time that more of us start doing concrete things to overthrow those people.

Many of us are ready for action but don't know exactly where to start. We may just have to pick up our "machetes" (symbolic) and start whacking away. (I don't mean physical violence)(gotta watch out for the Internet police. Don't want to get a visit from the FBI)

9. I agree...
Target one Corp at a time in a major way. Boycot, email, phone, etc. Needs to be something high profile enough to be seen, yet small enough to be able to wound in a short time.

Also be sure to provide lists to alternate outlets when the boycot starts.

13. Along with the criteria for why the alternates are alternates.
"We recommend these guys because yada, yada" - to include one or more positions on this issue and our other issues.
