I am disgusted with the 'liberal' Media
Edited on Sat Nov-06-04 06:42 PM by ck4829
They are going to spend more time pinning the 'Oil for Food' program on the UN (and of course forget that Republicans are involved with it) than with news that is actually true and/or important.

I am so sick of being shown the Scott Peterson trial.

Come on people, this isn't even news.

Breaking News: Scott Peterson's Attorney just said something.

5 minutes later

Breaking News: The Prosecution in the Scott Peterson Trial just responded to what the Attorney said earlier.

Don't expect any news about the fraud in the Election. It will be nothing except for "Morals won" and "Bush has a Mandate for America"

There used to be a saying in Roman times, "Bread and Circuses", as long as the people are happy and entertained the Roman Government will always have a hold on the people.

People, the 'liberal' media is the 'Circus'.

and pander to the lowest common denominator. Yes, the rethugs and the media learned well from their Roman Empire heroes. It's no coincidence that "The Passion" and some of the newly released movies about Alexander the Great and so forth have been dominating the media.

4. Scott Peterson trial drives me nuts
But I think that's what you get for creating a 24 hour news network. It needs fluff and plenty of it.

6. I would rather hear about
the Peterson trial than Bush ANY DAY!!! I have been using that trial to get over my habit of watching politics most of the day. Yesterday I had Court Tv on all day instead of CNN/MSNBC. I absolutely can't stand to hear anything about Bush right now.

5. Don't forget about the fun the media is having right now with the
"state of the democratic party". There isn't anything wrong with the party and if Bush had lost this election you certainly would not have heard anything about the "state of conservatism".

It is a load of shit and I am glad that I turned it off.

7. No offense, dude, but you're just now figuring it out?

I mean, yes, Laci Peterson got killed- awful, just awful.

But.. really.. 18 months of solid coverage? Compared to the miniscule amount of time given to the over 1,000 US Servicepeople dead in Iraq? (Maybe if Laci Peterson had gotten killed over there....)

You could sense how pissed they were that they had to break away for all this election stuff. If they had their druthers, it would be: Jacko-Laci-Jacko-Laci-Jacko-Laci... 24/7.

(They were really hoping to have Kobe Briant as the third arm of that triumverate, but unfortunately reality didn't oblige)

See, the Corporate Media isn't even pretending to be interested in informing people.. it's ALL about distraction. Keep the domesticated primates looking at the bright, shiny, buzzing objects while their bank accounts are being looted, their environment is being irretrivably poisoned, their kids are being shipped off to die in a pointless oil war and their democracy is being stolen right out from under them.

11. Yeah, it's more glaring than ever.
I mean, you could SMELL their relief as they switched over to LaciJacko 24/7.

10. Agreed.
The case is awful and disgusting, but do we realize how many men kill their pregnant wives/girlfriends? The only problem is that this time around, it was an attractive white woman who was killed, and her attractive white husband did it. So we're shocked, and we feel obligated to pour over it.

Pretty sickening.
