I would like to say I hope people "WON'T BLAME ME, FOR I WOULD HAVE VOTED FOR JOHN KERRY, IF I COULD."

On edit This is supposed to be a thread or message for international DU'ers about how I am sure if we could vote in American elections, we could have all put Kerry over the top and told Bushie or * and his election commandeering brigade, HIGHJACK THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

1. Calgary, eh?
If I lived in the city that kept sending Preston Manning to Parliament, I wouldn't talk. ;)

sure some of us, think our Premier, Ralph Klein is a bonehead.

On edit I thought Presto Manning's nasal voice was annoying in a way, not sure why, BTW.

6. His voice could have dripped honey for all I care...
...he's still an insane fundy whackjob. He still an MP?

Some of you think Ralph's a bonehead. Evidently, not quite enough of you.

Note: Though now a 'murkin, I come from Edmonton, so I bear my share of collective guilt for Ralph too. I swear he and Shrubbie were separated at birth.

12. Klein has delivered better than most.
He did what he said he was going to do in the early 90s. And people still elected him.

I remember being pissed off at all of the cutbacks some 10-12 years ago (Born, raised in AB and left at 30), but he was following through on what he promised IIRC, and now my home province is the envy of the country with its surplus. (Any present Albertans unhappy? Send your share my way!)

Can't tell you how many times I would've traded BC's Glen Clark for your "bonehead". That's the reason I prefer having Gordon Campbell in office right now.

Oops, I think I just pissed of at least a dozen fellow BCers. Oh, well, all I can say is that I feel better about where BC is at now compared to the same point in the last term of the NDP. The money's gotta come from somewhere, right?

Just saying is all. G'night.

7. Preston Manning? That is SOOOO 1999!
You've overlooked Stockwell Day and Stephen Harper.

And IIRC, Manning's not too impressed with either of them.

Must. Pay. More. Attention. To. My. OWN. Country's. Politics....

8. I spent the first 30 years of my life in Edmonton.
Like anywhere else, you can find it if you want to. But it's NOTHING like much of the shit I've read about happening in the states.

Could be better, but I don't think it's any better or worse anywhere in Canada.

5. Not as much to be ashamed about as you'd think
CBC did in an informal election day poll in Calgary's city centre. The results were 78 votes for Kerry, 25 for Bush, and 3 for Nader. It was on CBC 1010.

11. As I have watched my country
(the U.S.) goose-step its way in rapid march toward cliff's edge, I have seen Canada crawl in that direction. The whole world seems to be bowing to the corporate fist clenching tighter and tighter. You may be but a decade behind us in our proud parade into tyranny. That said, the better education system in Canada may save you, that and CBC instead of CNN.
