Had interesting conversation yesterday with Manhattan banker with one of the Big Four Japanese banks. He (a Kerry supporter & Dem) said that most of his colleagues are RINOs, i.e., Republican in name only. These are Americans working for the NYC branches of Japanese banks. They were very depressed the day after the election and someone asked the group if any of their corporate clients were hiring. They could come up with only 3. One was a railroad which had laid off too many recently and had to hire a few back; one was Neiman Marcus (luxury department store) hiring sales persons who work mainly on commission; and the third was Carnival Cruise Lines, whose employees work basically for free room and board and very minimal wages. These bankers get their info straight from the corporate horses' mouths, so to speak, ie the CEOs and CFOs of the corporations. What all the (American) bankers found alarming was that all of these corporations are enthusiastically outsourcing as fast as they can , with jobs going to China, Mexico and Brazil.
