Fed money distributed in the South. No, I didn't bookmark, I just winged out in my own incredibly ADD way.
Anyway, here's some info on Alabama. And BTW, many in AL and FL are worried about BC...Base Closure, less B/C.
On to GA and Miss.

Throughout our history, Alabama has played a critical role in the national security of the United States. The sons and daughters of our state have fought for and defended our nation in every corner of the globe. From Bataan to Bosnia to Baghdad, every time our country has called, Alabamians have been there to answer. Over the years, the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform have liberated millions and made the world safer for millions more.
What is sometimes overlooked, however, are the contributions made by Alabama’s major military bases to the security of our nation. Alabama is blessed to be the home to four of America’s premier installations – Anniston Army Depot, Redstone Arsenal, Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base and Fort Rucker.

Not only are our bases indispensable to the success of America’s military, they are an engine of economic growth that bring and create good, quality jobs for Alabama. Over 30,000 of our citizens are employed on our military bases, and thousands more throughout the state have jobs today because these bases are located here. Alabama’s military installations exceed $4 billion in operating budgets and payrolls, creating a multi-billion dollar impact to our state economy.
