Fact: Only the Republicans can stop this Fool...

With majorities in Congress, the few non-wingnut Repugs are going to have to get up off their bloated asses and stand with us to prevent the Apocalypse.

Sad, but true.

My question is when will we reach the tipping point? When will they finally get tired of his condescension, his prevarication, his incompetence, his malfeasance and his extreme partisanship? The campaign is over and reality needs to seep back into governance.

The country got burned the last time we listened to this guy and attacked Iraq. I have a feeling that when Shrubya is going to get his dander up about Iran or NK, they're going to be a little more skeptical. They must know that if we fuck up and attack any more large countries that don't deserve attacking, especially one that fights back and kills more of our troops, attacked again by terrorists and an investigation hints that it was preventable, or completely fucks up in Iraq, the people are going to drop the Republican party like a hot potato for years and years to come.

Anything short of the apocalyse, but most of all to save their own political hides, they're going to have to stand with us to put the kibosh on indvidual legislative and policy moves that are just too extreme. Most of all in the Senate. Until Tom Delay really fucks up and finally prosecuted, convicted and sentenced for what shit he's pulls off, the House is hopeless.

So Arlen Specter and Lincoln Chafee, I'm talking to you. Wake the fuck up!

If any of you have a repug representing you, I hope that you know his/her name and know how to start a letter writing campaign threatening their future while in office if you want to get them to act. Because, that's the only way that they're going to listen.

If you have Dems, tell them that you're behind them and that they need to keep a backbone, even if they have to be the lone voice of reason in the wilderness on the House or Senate floor. We can't stomach wimps, so fight back gawddammit. We can't give up... Ever!

That's right, the fight has yet to begin.

1. I don't think it will be long
before more moderate republicans fight tooth and nail to fight the extreme right wing, neocon agenda.

One can only hope...

I know, I haven't had much sleep and I might be losing it. :eyes:

6. A small band of them could hold great power if they imitate Jeffords. nt

2. Don't count on republicans doing anything like that
They are good at talking the talk but when it comes to doing, they quickly fall into the party line. For the machine that reward and punish in the reThuglican party is forever well oiled and ready for use in no time.

3. The fool shouldn't be stopped
Specter and Chaffee had their opportunity when it would've taken courage to stop Bush.

Now they're merely impotent bystanders.

Swing voters and moderate Republicans both in the electorate and in the government saw the New Confederacy reaching for power as well as we did, yet they acquiesced.

Did Chris Shays condemn Tom DeLay's re-redistricting?

Did Arlen Specter resist the more lunatic of Bush's judicial nominees?

We're in for it now, but it makes no sense to try to deny Bush the power he manifestly possesses, unless you're willing to take to arms, which I am not.

5. They might TRY ...
... although I doubt it, but in any event neither Delay, Frist, nor Bush needs their votes anymore anyway.

The New Confederacy has 51 votes in the Senate (plus Cheney if they lose 1 on any particular vote) and about 220 in the House, and that's even stretching the moderate numbers.
