ONLY a truly MISERABLE FAILURE could gloat over a grade of 51%
In my university days for accounting, we had to have a grade average of 65% just to be eligible to write final exams. And a 65% or better on the finals.

You really do have to be a lifelong MISERABLE FAILURE like bush to gloat about 51%.

Pretty much says it all about bush, doesn't it.

5. We certainly would have been gloating if Kerry had gotten 51%
I fact, many here on DU were gloating even before the polls closed.

6. Gotta agree with you there. Considering that under 50 has been the norm..
for the last few elections, 51% is fine

7. I disagree
In a presidential election, a 3% lead in the pop. vote is respectable, no landslide tho'. Don't forget that this is the first election since 1988 that the winner got an absolute majority of the pop. vote. Add in the Republican gains in the senate and house, and it is not unreasonable for the Bush team to be pleased with the results.
