A Passing thought
Edited on Tue Sep-02-03 07:42 AM by The Lone Liberal
The Right-wing theme for this morning’s Cspan call-in seems to be to castigate the Democrats for being “Whiners.” I would suggest as a quid-pro-quo we, Democrats, designate the Republicans, and the Right-wing types as “Hot-check Republicans.” In light of the fact, that including the current administration, the last three Republican administrations engaged in “on-the-cuff” financing of the military adventures for which they had such ardor.

That sort of behavior has led to a protest by the Democrats which is perceived by the “Checks-in-the mail” Republicans as whining. A more accurate read of the situation is that the Democrats are more inclined to be “step-up-to-the-plate” and pay our way type of people than does the “Credit-card” junkies of the Right.

1. Or how about check kiting republicans?
Since any checks they write to us for a long time in the future will certainly bounce.

3. I admit I went back and forth on this for a while
Is it better to take "the high ground" with the rabid types, or take it straight to them right off the bat? Do people turn off the message when such adjectives are used during a rational discussion?

Then it finally dawned on me: There is no such thing as a rational discussion with the disciples from the Cult of Boosh. Why bring a knife to a gun fight? Pre-empt their asses before they even get a word out! Let them start complaining to the Marquis of Queensbury that the big, bad Dems are calling them names!

And James or Paul, if you're listening, tell Novak to "stop demagoging" within the first five minutes of Crossfire, and just watch how the tenor of the show changes!
