Fallujah = Guernica

U.S. Forces Storm Into Western Fallujah
..
An AC-130 gunship raked the city with 40 mm cannon fire as explosions from U.S. artillery lit up the night sky. Intermittent artillery fire blasted southern neighborhoods of Fallujah, and orange fireballs from high explosive airbursts could be seen above the rooftops.
...
The initial attacks on Fallujah began just hours after the Iraqi government declared 60 days of emergency rule throughout most of the country as militants dramatically escalated attacks, killing at least 30 people, including two Americans.
...
Before the assault began, U.S. commanders warned troops to expect the most brutal urban fighting since the Vietnam War.

6. Add a dash of Stalingrad, a pinch of Hue and a full-on Nanking hoe-down
It's kinda funny thinking we can out-macho extremist Middle Eastern males.

Kinda.

I guess.

Perhaps Wounded Knee is a more apt comparison.

Lots of innocent young Americans, trustingly in the service of corporate conquest and religious subjugation will lose their lives, along with some who are not so pure and some who downright stink. On the other side, good, bad and middlin' people will be terminated with extreme prejudice.

Oooh, we're gonna show 'em.

Sick.

Once again, for the umpteenth time: it's amazing how those who worship the past (reactionaries) seem to know nothing about it. The neo-cons and their enablers are in fantasyland; they should be reading about Hannibal, but in their hearts--or whatever they have in there--they're having too much fun being Hannibal Lecter.

7. Wounded Knee seems closer to what's happening
The photos of the slaughter of the Indians at wounded Knee are as hard to take as the ones of dead children, women and men coming from Iraq.

10. This is going to be a bloody mess
I hope that people who voted for Bush will be able to sleep at night seeing what will be coming in from that city.

11. Americans won't be seeing anything that hasn't been approved by the regime
Iraq will be touted as a military & diplomatic success even as "insurgents" (meaning Iraqi patriots) daily attack & kill Americans & Iraqi collaborators.
