Campaign: Make Olbermann #1!
Retaking the media begins right here. Every DU'er should watch Keith every day, if possible, and email ALL your friends and family to watch Keith. If his ratings go up, MSNBC will see that we are a huge audience and will climb aboard.

But first Keith's viewership has got to explode skyward. Start the campaign today. Olbermann's show on MSNBC. Countdown to a ratings bonanza!

3. No. He is treating bush** as the winner...
look at story #4. bush picking out his new cabinet.

Sorry, but reporting on "problems" isn't reporting on the FRAUD.

He is still treating bush as if he didn't cheat, lie and steal.

7. Wrong

Keith used the "F" word, called it fraud.

Asked the hard questions.

This was a good report.

11. He started with vote shenanigans, Ducky
Then he moved on to the new Shrubbery. It's just another story. It doesn't imply an endorsement of the Chimperor the way I see it.

In fact, following as it did the story of "potential" vote fraud, it implies to me that he thinks time is growing short to rectify it.

22. He's willing to report a risky story that requires investigation.
I don't want a liberal press, I want a MUCKRAKING one.

Life isn't perfect, I take the good where I find it.

By the way, he called it it apparent FRAUD.

4. Quite a funny guy... and when emailing... a halfway pledge to support
their sponsors would be kinda enticing to them. It would be "voting with your pocketbook".

9. I understand it *does matter* if you set your TIVO to record
a show--they harvest that info from your TIVO.

I'm going to set Olbermann's show to record every night on TIVO from here on out.

at MSNBC headquarters thanking them for Countdown and Keith Olberman? Lots of signs, saying "Keith Rocks", well you get the idea. What a change for them, actual kudos from liberals. Won't tweety be jealous? What did he do on his show tonight? I heard he caved, but I haven't caught it yet. Someone else needs to go with this; I am practically a shut-in healthwise.

14. Tonight's Olbermann show was the first show I've watched all week.
It will be the ONLY show, besides Washington Journal, that I will watch. Air America radio is on all day and all night. I may have to edit the Morning Sedition, Franken and the Majority Report. They didn't help our cause at all today. :( I'm looking forward to Mike Malloy though!

16. I thought you had to be a Nielsen or
other ratings type of family for your viewing habits to be monitored. Some posts here seem to indicate otherwise, does anyone know for sure how this works?

29. as I noted in post #12, I did it for a week
We were chosen at random. Not sure where they get their names (my phone number's unlisted).

We were asked to write down in diaries for one week what myself and my family watched. One diary per TV in the house. If the TV wasn't on at any given time, we were to note that, too. If people were visiting and watching, if we taped or TIVO'd shows, or if we had comments about TV in general, we could note that too.

They asked for info about my family (age, gender, race) to break down into demographics. After the week (runs from Thursday to Wednesday), they were very anxious to make sure we mailed back the diaries the day after the week ended. And that we did.

As I noted, we wrote down in diaries. But I remember reading a while back that they also did electronic monitoring as well. Kind of like a cable box connected to your TV that would ask who's watching when you change channels. I don't know if they still do that. I assume they also have a separate method to get overnight ratings in certain metropolitan areas.

I got five bucks. But the fact that I got to contribute to Countdown's ratings for that week made it well worth it.

20. Keith Olbermann
has been a favorite of mine since his days on ESPN. I've loved his reporting where ever he goes and I never miss his show.

He's the only one of the media types currently on tv that I never miss. He's funny and he puts on a good show every night.

GO KEITH!!!

26. i agree
but with all that about watching olberman..... i didn't even see it mentioned what *time* he is on.

let's not overlook the simple things now. often those turn out to be big, i'm just sayin'.....

and with watching, we have to ensure our eyes are *counted*. this includes, since nielson surveys are unlikely (but hey, again, please don't overlook those and the impact they have because it's a rather simple thing for those who've received them), e-mail bombing msnbc and e-mailing the sponsors who appear during the show.

don't take it for granted, look what happened to donahue.....

27. I agree. It would be great if we could turn MSNBC into the liberal
version of FAUX. Start a campaign to get Scarborough kicked off and then start on Tweedy.

MSNBC could make a fortune if it would dump the Chimp supporters. FAUX has all of the Chimp viewers. MSNBC could get a 40% cable market share if it became the liberal network.
