Long term strategy

We as democrats must make some decisions. I live in the south and come from the north. As opposed to most people, I have a great deal of experience with rural southerners. I used to sell cash registers to rural southerners and was very succesful.. They are good people but they are a lost cause as far as ever getting them to vote for the democratic party. This is going to be a 10 to 20 year movement but we need to reach out to the fiscal conservatives and social liberals of N.M., CO, Ariz, Nev., Ohio, and Fl. The Rocky mountain west conservatives are Goldwater type people and can be converted. We must tie the religious right to the current republican party and then move the dialog to "talibanize" them.

The Repugs spent a lot of time demonizing the word liberal. We need to do the same with conservative. We need to tie religious extremism, cluelessness, and financial irresponsibility to the word. We need to mock them at every opportunity.

It doesn't happen overnight. You have to change perception. First is the need to be the party of small business. I own my own business and tax incentives is the first step.

We need a real attack dog to begin ripping at the repugs the way Newtie did with us.

Let this sink in. There is no reason to think of a long term or short term strategy.
If you vote on these machines you are just jerking yourself around.
It will just be a Machiavellian exercise in futility to plan, campaign, raise and spend money, or even to bother to vote.

Rigged it was and rigged it will be. If you dont stop it this time rigged elections will be institutionalized and it will take a miracle to reclaim democracy.

That's what they are so good at. Everybody uses the same language.
Credit card conservatives
Religious fundamentalists
Social Security deconstruction

We need to choose labels and everybody sticks to them.

I know it's the machines, but frankly I'd like to see us work on the long term goals. We don't need to change out positions, just the words.
The machines come first, but the right is going to be yelling that we're trying to steal the votes. Don't flame me. That's what they will do.
