Softening us up via TV dramas--CSI: Miami
Watching CSI: Miami and they were chasing a bunch of bank robbers at sea and lo and behold there was a Homeland Security boat in with all the other law enforcement boats. Homeland Security is not intended for ordinary law enforcement/regular crimes. Now this was just a story but I think gov't wants people to get used to these extra-ordinary powers being used for fighting common or garden crime.

1. they also used 'Homeland Security' software to solve the cemetary
murder - the program that can analyze the weight vehicles are carrying - or however that worked.

Too much Homeland Security refs in this show.
