Olbermann's blog on Cuyahoga Co Oh - "Vote early! Vote often!"
Interestingly, none of the complaining emailers took issue with the remarkable results out of Cuyahoga County, Ohio. In 29 precincts there, the County’s website shows, we had the most unexpected results in years: more votes than voters.

I’ll repeat that: more votes than voters. 93,000 more votes than voters.

Oops.

Talk about successful get-out-the-vote campaigns! What a triumph for democracy in Fairview Park, twelve miles west of downtown Cleveland. Only 13,342 registered voters there, but they cast 18,472 votes.

Vote early! Vote often!

2. This is the only issue
Everything else is busy work and a waste of time. Either we accept this fascism or we don't.

3. In Cuyahoga Co.
That's where cleveland is, no? Are any of these (the first ever) errors in Kerry's favor; or are these in predominanlty bush voting areas?

4. Read it, guys... excellent... This guy really oozes integrity...
I know, I know-- we've been dearly disappointed before--so much I cut my cable and know about Keith's show only from occasional posted clips and the detail those of us without access manage to extract from other excited posters. But, if this keeps up, well, i'd surely love to support KO...

5. My theory of the more votes-than-voters phenomena.
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 09:44 AM by The Backlash Cometh
See this through:

(1) A Floridian lives in a Florida county and becomes a valid registered voter. Let's say he's from Dade and we'll call the Floridian, Sammy. Sammy is also an immigrant American.

(2) Sammy moves to a Republican county and registers for that county as he should. We'll say he moved to Baker County.

(3) A Republican get-out-the vote organization from Dade phone calls Sammy and asks him if he wants an absentee ballot. Sammy, not realizing that it's his Dade registration that is activating the call, says yes.

(4) The Absentee Ballot from Dade comes up and Sammy votes. Not familiar with the system, he doesn't realize that the ballot should come from Baker.

(5) On Election Day, a Republican get-out-the phone bank from Baker county calls Sammy to remind him to come out and vote on election day. Sammy say, "No, I already voted." The Baker Republican tells Sammy, "No, Sammy, our Baker voter registration shows you haven't voted."

(6) Confused, Sammy comes down on election day to his precinct in Baker County and when he's told that he was never given an Absentee Ballot, nor was one received, he votes again. After all, he heard so many problems about the absentee ballots in Palm Beach, he has reasonable doubt.

What do you think?

6. State recount information
And here are the recount laws. Note that in some states, you don't even have to be a candidate.

Here is a site for recount information, by state:

http://www.electionline.org/site/docs/html/recount_provisions_-_part_1.htm

Here is another site that has the specific law/codes for recounts by state:

http://moritzlaw.osu.edu/electionlaw/procedures_recount07.html

Some states are more open than others. But even in the states where it's tight, the point is not that only the presidential race can be recounted. Any race can. And if the totals are off, the whole authenticity of the election is gone.
