:shrug:

We're engaged in the biggest battle of the war, but major combat operations were supposed to have been over.

And the fact of the matter is, nobody ever called him on this, even when everybody knew damn well and good we were about to move into the largest ground battle of the entire Iraq war. This was PRE-ELECTION, folks, and not ONE SINGLE AD TO CAPITALIZE ON IT!

WHEN THE HELL ARE DEMOCRATS GOING TO WAKE UP TO THE REALITY THAT POLITICS IS WAR AND MUST BE CONDUCTED AS SUCH?

I do not believe there is a single strategic bone in the collective bodies of everybody at the top of the Democratic Party.

2. I think Democratics make erroneous but upbeat assumptions
that others are:
1) as smart as they are and can analyze the Admin's behavior;
2) they remember history, even recent history, and keep up with news from multiple sources;
3) can manage #1 & #2 when working several jobs, or long hours, or a job and college, or any of the aforementioned plus raising a family.

We have to start assuming that people want to be talked down to at the sixth grade level and given simple sound bites to justify their politics. Bush spoke at a sixth grade level during the debates. Kerry is so smart he managed to "dumb-down" his speech only to an eight grade level, so he disconnected with many voters. Kerry expected too many people to be able to understand the complexities of meaning in a compound sentence.

4. The democrats will probabally...
go back to their failed "Bush lite" position and abandon their base as they did during the midterm elections.

5. The Democrat's "base" appears to be
the "undecided voters". The Party doesn't seem to give a fuck about anyone else. Also, it must be said, that the "average" Democratic voter seems to be very "centrist" in general. You can no longer win with centrism...
