Bless Carole Simpson.. Please watch this c-span 2004-vote panel
It's still on now (it's a repeat from Monday).. You missed the best part, so please look for the link at cspan and watch the whole thing :)

It has Juan Williams, Carole Simpson, Pat Buchanan, David Broder and some others..

She blew the lid off. said it like it is.. even held up the slave state map..

People in the audience blasted the media people about the "Saddam hit NYC" myth.. It was funny to see Pat Buchanan spinning..he claims that HE and others REPEATEDLY said it was not true... (Surrrre Pat )

www.c-span.org will have the link

1. It was live yesterday at 5:00 pm CT and they replayed it last night.
She isn't happy and the questioners from the audience are pissed at the media. Aren't we all?

It is good to watch.

2. It annoyed me at the end
When they pledged to do a better job and commented that the might have "missed" some things..

:puke:

They always seem to be ready to apologize for the shitty job they did.. and they HAD the information when it would have been important to tell us..

Telling us AFTER we have the idiot back for 4 more years, is like a slap in the face.. They finally fess up when there is nothing that can de done with the information..

and they wonder why we are mad???

3. This isn't the first C-span event since the election where I have seen
the media being attacked by the very pissed off audience. The media is on the defensive.

Half of the country is blaming Bush voters and the media as much as BushCo for the mess we are in now. I have never felt such anger and placed so much responsibility on the voters and media as opposed to the candidate (I already blame Bush but he has shown himself and people didn't care).

When things go bad and people react with shock, horror or sadness, my first question will be "who did you vote for?" If Bush, blame yourself because I sure do.

If only we could limit the pain the Bush Administration will cause to the Bush voters but life is not so fair.

4. I wrote to Brian lamb, and of course he ignored me.
I very politely asked that he USE c-span to finally air out the MANY grievances of democrats..

I told him that the feeling that we get from c-span these days (and for the last FOUR years) is of indignant dismissal.

I referenced the time he actually asked a Floridian dem , in 2001, why she was still "upset" about the election.. it had been SIX MONTHS already..

Told him that what would go a long way to healing the festering FURY, would be for an ALL DAY...DEMS only, gripe session call in show.. Let us get this ANGER off our minds and chests..It might also give them some ideas of shows that they need to do.

They are a public service anyway, and I really feel that this could be a way to allow people to vent..

I also reminded him that people are desperately trying to get through in the mornings for that slim window of opportunity, and when they do, their questions are never answered by the guest, or they are given so little time, and sometimes are conveninetly "disconnected" or even hung up on.

Never heard back from him :(

5. What happened? I used to love Brian Lamb. He seems much pissier
these days. Perhaps stopping Book Notes will help him.
