Dean considers bid for DNC chairman
Go, Dean, Go!!!

http://www.wstm.com/Global/story.asp?S=2538846

MONTPELIER, Vt. The new head of the Democratic Party? How about Howard Dean?

Steve Grossman, who once headed the Democratic National Committee, says the former presidential candidate is considering a bid to take that position.

A Dean spokeswoman says it's far too early to be speculating on Dean's becoming party chairman. Grossman disagrees, saying he has strongly urged Dean to seek the position. Dean himself acknowledges receiving thousands of e-mails urging him to try for it.

Taking the position would rule out a Dean bid for the presidency in 2008.

2. Absolutely
After losing in the primaries, he didn't whine or complain. He formed a new group to raise money and campaign for candidates in state races. What more could you ask for in a party chairman?

4. He would be an excellent spokesman
And he would get to talk to a wider circle of contributors.

And he would have a platform for exposure.

And he would be the de fact head of the Party.

And while I was not a Deaniac, the guy deserves it - he worked for Kerry to win - he should get a reward if he wants it.

Plus, I would give to the DNC for the first time in years.

5. he will give us back a voice, plus I think he would really enjoy that posi
position. I'm sure his wife would like for him to do that. I hope we'll be seeing more of her.

6. Ron Brown
It's at times like this that I really miss the late Commerce Secretary Ron Brown. When Secretary Brown was the head of the DNC, he was very effective. He made us believe we could win again-and we did, via President Clinton.

And Secretary Brown was really good at getting the Democratic Party's message out. When the Republicans had their convention in 1992, Ron Brown was holding daily press conferences during the convention, giving the DNC's talking points.

He was just a very effective Chairman of the DNC. I hope we see someone like him again. I'm sorry to say that I don't believe Terry McAuliffe has served us well at all, and I will be glad to see him leave the Chairmanship.

I think it says a lot about his ineffectiveness that the DNC did not even adequately respond to the "unpatriotic" charge being leveled against former Sen. Max Cleland in 2002. This man left limbs in Vietnam, and Saxby Chambliss and the Republicans label him unpatriotic. How could Terry McAuliffe let that happen?

7. Good luck Dr. Dean!
We need a fighter like you who speaks the truth and stands up to power!
