Should We Go Negative in '08?
Senator Kerry did not lose the election because of gay marriage. He did not lose because of values. He did not lose because of throngs of religious rightwingers voting for Bush over "morality" issues.

He lost it because the Convention in Boston should have been a pre-emptive surgical strike on George Bush.

The Convention should have been three days of primetime television where Bush was totally destroyed, with humor, with wit, with sorrow and with great hope for our country.

Kerry could then have appeared on the fourth night and delivered a soaring, hopeful, positive, optimistic address, in a beautiful and impassioned counterbalance to the three preceding evenings.

He could have come out of that convention with a ten point lead.

Lesson learned. Next time we destroy them.

1. How can anyone speak sanely about the Busholini record
... without being "negative"?

It's one thing to tell the 'negative' truth; it's another thing to tell outright lies and then soft peddle them as mere 'negatives'. :puke:

2. The edict that the campaign sent down
of "no bush bashing" at the convention was a fatal mistake

3. They did the right thing..
.. because of how it would have been interpreted by "State" TV FAUX News. Then all the other news organizations would have jumped on board because they want to be just like FAUX and not piss off the regime.

5. Yep. It sure didn't help shrub's convention, did it.
They went negative and only saw a 10 point rise in the polls which Kerry never recovered from.

6. sure. the GOP convention was a massive orgy of hate
and I was amazed (yeah, I know .....) that the pundits didn't call it such.

I've never seen such a bunch of rabid hate-filled people EVER.

All going after Kerry, like HE'S the one who fucked everything up.

Good God.

Yes, tell the truth about Bush, SOMEBODY needs to. It will be plenty negative. The truth about Bush is just sad, and pathetic, and tragic.

8. He lost because
he didn't fight when they stole the election out from under him. After all the posturing too. I'd be ashamed if I were him.

We need to have a Lee Atwater, Rove mentality when it comes to politics! I hate it but it works and works damn well! I'm for anything other than violence to take this country back!

I still call for a Million Patriots March on Washington! Take it to the streets!
Then we worry about the next one.

Be Blessed
