4. Former President Clinton
Send him--at least he actually won. And has class. And is educated. And knows who Arafat was.

15. I also concur.
Maybe Dennis Ross would be the only other person I could think of, but Carter's much higher stature.

12. who should they send...
or will send?

my bet is they send a low level State official. Someone whose title is like Adjunct Secretary of Custodial Duties or something. In the real world (where most reasonable people live) Bush (or Powell) would go since Arafat was more or less a head of state. But, we all know that ain't going to happen.

16. Laura
That way when the pro-Israel types bitch they can remind them the they didn't send anybody official, implying that this was an insult. They can tell the Palistinian partisans that sending his *wife* was a a compliment, because she has *'s ear. Laura gets photographed in a slimming black outfit so her ass doesn't look so damned big and puts the gentler (vapid, bland) face of the Bush criminal syndicate out before the world media. Goes shopping with Mrs. Arafat afterward, since she desparately needs help in the coture department and has no gay friends.

Everybody wins. Well, except Arafat. He's still dead, we think.

22. Powell
even if Arafat was a disgraceful leader, it's good protocol to send someone of Powell's level and could help us going forward. The guy's dead, no point in sticking our nose up at the arab world another time.
