the draft comes back. If Bush wants a draft and the Republican controlled congress gives it to him, he will have officially LIED during his campaign as have all those Republicans who voted against the draft a month ago. Kudos to Charlie Rangel of NY for this most impressive political move. It really boxes the Republicans into a corner.

1. At the rate he and his Neo-Con buddies are going..
Dub's going to HAVE to ask for SOME FORM of military draft--and a "skills draft", as well. One or BOTH will probably "co-ed". So yes, the draft will probably an issue by 2006, and not merely in 2008.

I just feel sick for so many of our younger friends who will likely be affected by this one--I look into their faces, and by God, I want them to be ALIVE for the 2008 election!

B-)

2. I understood it that we couldn't have a draft since we couldn't afford it
Myself I can't see this(lack of money) being a problem for * since he doesn't seem to understand the concept. But they are getting around it by stop loss (not letting people out) Recalling people who have been honorable discharged (one guy has been out for 13 yrs honorably discharged. I have also met some people who are going back in so that they can get their current separation changed to an honorable discharge. On the SSS web site they said that there will be no draft. My question if there was no way this country was going to do another draft Why waste money keeping this part of the government open?

4. Exactly.
That is THE "bottom line". It's pathetic more of you can't recognize that single fact as being dispositive re: your sniveling about '06, '08.
