I might be moving back to the USA. . .
. . . and I am in a moral dilemma.

Half of me wants to focus on making as much money as possible and not giving a shit as all the right-wing bastards who voted to take away my rights as a gay man starve and lose their jobs.

The other half wants to spend lots of time fighting both.

Is anyone else going through this moral dilemma of deciding what one's attitude is going to be?

1. I don't know that trying to make as much money as possible
is ever the ethical choice.

But I also don't know that the ethical choice is always the right choice.

Translation: I can be of no help.

2. I view money as a degree of power. . .
. . . if I cannot get rights as a citizen, perhaps I can buy them.

A sad reflection of contemporary realities, but. . .

4. Depends on what position in the economy you can take.

There are plenty of high paying jobs that give no real power.

3. Are you in a position to help starve the right wing bastards?
If so, I say do it. And make money and save it for your old age because the neocons are going to destroy social security.

7. I don't have a choice. . .
. . . contrary to popular fantasy, the EU and other countries aren't having out passports to American citizens who wish to live in saner places.

9. Brian,
do NOT come back. This place is a horror. A pay raise doesn't cover the emotional pain.
